Would you trade Curtis Samuel to the 49ers for a DE?

that dude was so fuging stupid and people on here would fall over themselves because he would spend pages saying "actually the player that looks bad is good"

Meh, I don't necessarily think he's stupid. I just think he tried way too hard to push alternate viewpoints and would engage in hilarious mental gymanstics to defend those viewpoints no matter what.

You dont make knee jerk trades when trying to build. Winning now is not important.

Seriously!

You want to call “winning isn’t important” Now? After blasting anyone who even suggested that for how long now. Which side of the hypocritical fence are you really on? Or did you just want to complain about everything everyone posts?

One of biggest criticisms of Gettleman was his willingness to spend premium draft picks on redundancies. KB in the 1st and then Funchess in the 2nd the next year. CMC on the 1st and Samuel in the 2nd in the same draft. Bradberry in the 2nd and Worley in the 3rd in the same draft. In each of these cases, he basically drafted a poor man's version of the guy he'd just drafted.

No team in their right mind would trade a 3rd for a #3 WR that hasn't produced and will be a free agent soon anyways.

They should be working the phones trying to get a big LB or DE for him. San Francisco might be desperate enough at WR to make a move for him.

Yeah, if we could actually get a 3rd for him I think he'd be gone. I'm not sure what we could get but I doubt it'd be much. That's why I wanted to keep him and hope he developed. We'll see. We're only one game in.

Go to team with the biggest need and a lot of extra comp picks. And a QB familiar with Samuel. Could probably get a late 4th.

    • Umm yeah. When did he get it done at the right time? I seem to remember a 4-6 finish and needing Atlanta to win our way into the playoffs but whatever.
    • I mean....no lies detected. See above. We have traded a fortune to draft a guy #1 overall that people have lowered standards for to the point that not playing like Jimmy Clausen and looking like a poor man's Kyle Allen occasionally is worthy of a contract extension making him one of the highest paid QB's in the league. That is cope on steroids.
    • summary: "let's talk about your draft, what did you think about Freeling" Dan:   guys with a huge upside, can come in and compete to start.  High ceiling "he does what for your offense?" Dan:   it's hard to find left tackles, guys that big and athletic.  We have Icky coming off an injury, we signed Walker, I believe your offensive line can never be too strong.  If we're going to win the game, it's gotta be up front on both sides of the ball, so we make a point of emphasis on making both sides of the front as strong as possible. "how many mocks did you see Monro falling to you." Not many times, left tackles are gonna go a lot earlier than when we took him.  We want to add the best player, in free agency or the draft"  that's our philosophy, to get the best players possible. "Hunter and Brazzell." Dan:  we followed the board.  Lee we felt very highly of him , super strong.  Brazzel so flexible and loose, can open the verticle.  Will Lee we held in high regard. "you take a look at your receiver room, Coker, my goodness, your offensive rookie of the year in Tet.  Lost Rico, but there is Jonathan Brooks. " Brooks coming off two knee injuries, he worked his way back, looking great, fully healthy, will help in pass and run game.  Icky, not sure when he's coming back but we're excited about both "plan on extending Bryce" we'll keep talking, will keep internally.  We believe in him, has such a great grasp of Canales and offense, has improved every year. "he's clearly come back from the benching, the arrow is trending up, where does he feel" Bryce knows where we stand with him, when and if a deal gets done, he knows we feel great with him, we'll get something done at the right time. "if this a prove it situation?" everyone in the building has to prove it, has to earn it. Tmac was everything we wanted, his work ethic, he's so big and talented, but he puts the work in, and is a great teammate. "your level of expectation, the building's level of expectation for 2026 "our goal is to win the division every year, we know we have to earn it.  we have to put the work in every day, proving it on the practice field, and our  guys know that." "schedule" we haven't opened at home in 2 or 3 years.  We love prime time games, hope we get some "
