We need YGM in the field getting experience. YGM, Brown, and Burns are our future at defensive line with Chinn roaming free behind them.

Weatherly might be in that mix. I have liked what I have seen from him for sure. YGM looks pretty raw. His play against the run was pretty suspect.

Valid point. Hopefully with more experience he will develop into a solid foundation for us. Weatherly has looked solid as well!

Kinda looking forward to seeing Woodrow Hamilton again to see if he can build off that game.

Hopefully they bring him back up from the practice squad again: https://www.panthers.com/team/transactions/

Idk why we don't get rid of 1 of the 6 DEs we're carrying on the active roster, Haynes or Miller, and just keep Hamilton on the roster for good.

Based on the contract structure he is referring to cutting him after the season.

Then it’s $14.5M and we all knew he wasn’t staying in 2021. There were others who mentioned retirement and injury settlements for savings this year.

This year was the chance to actually not waste money. Even most of the people who wanted him this year were talking about releasing him after the year. I guess we needed a mentor like he mentored Butler. Again, such a huge waste of money.

So we get 14.5 million next year if we cut KK?

We will gain $9.8 mil in extra cap and have $11 mil in dead money.

Correct, but that $11 in dead cap is there whether he’s on the team or not. Also, if they want, a post June 1 designation would be the full $14.5M in cap savings next year.

In essence, we do save $14.5M by cutting him. That’s his next year salary and roster/workout bonuses, i.e. “new” money. If we kept him his total cap hit would be $25.5M ($4.6M dead in 2022 due to voided years).

Sweet. Thanks! I would def choose the designated June 1st option
