Trey Lance will realistically be within reach

I doubt it. The only reason a few people are saying this is because of the conference and relatively small, albeit extremely successful body of work.

I’ve watched a few videos on him. I don’t want him and it has nothing to do with either of these things. He doesn’t look remotely pro ready. He locks onto receivers, he doesn’t throw with anticipation, he does have a pretty nice deep ball though. And half his runs he would be getting blown up at the LOS in the NFL. He isn’t going to be able to bulldoze 190 lbs linebackers in the NFL

Gator fan here. Pitts should be the first TE off the board. Just an absolute stud. Kyle has been what we’ve been missing in Florida for years. A guy who can complete passes and not kill us every week. He should be a day 2 kid as of now but he could also blossom in his final year. He never started in high school.

Yeah, I like how Trask is improving but kinda question the arm strength on deep balls.  Not a super athlete either but he has gotten a lot better.  Florida has a real shot this year.  They look good right now if that defense picks up.

Naw I’ve seen plays where he looks off safety’s and goes through progressions. The problem with evaluating him is that he rarely threw into tight coverage because his wrs were wide fuging open so much that he rarely had to throw with anticipation. Part of that has to do with how he stresses defenses with his legs, the other part has to do with the talent gap between NDSU and other schools. The arm talent is definitely there.

No he’s not gonna run between the tackles in the nfl but he can move and scramble and create plays with his legs. He’s a guy you draft to sit the bench for a year or two to learn. Those things you said are coachable but he for sure is nfl talented. If we have the right coaching staff to coach him up I would be excited to draft him.

And the previous QBs to come out from that conference and competition level: Carson Wentz and Josh Allen. This is the first real good job Allen as done and Wentz already looks like his NFL career as a starter might not be much longer. But he also helped Philly win a Super Bowl and looked like an MVP.

Boom or bust.

Wentz was good until injuries piled up on him.

These players don't have anything to do with one another. They must be evaluated and graded on their own merits, as with any other collegiate or professional player.

I’ve said it a couple times already but if we draft him I’d sit him for a season or two, let teddy play out his contract and mentor, build up the oline and give him a chance to work on the finer points of the qb position. In everything I’ve watched he rarely had to throw the ball into tight windows because he literally never had to. NDSU is just too dominant in that division.

His arm is crazy. Throws 50 yard tds effortlessly and can run and scramble and throw the ball from different angles but he needs nfl coaching in practices and preseason games until we put him out there. I wouldn’t rush him.

Teddy’s contract is perfect for a QB like Lance to sit and learn. Plus like him or not Teddy is a smart player and a rookie could learn a lot from him.

I have watched some analysis of him, and what you're saying about locking on receivers and not throwing with anticipation is off the mark.

Sure maybe. I’m certainly not locked into my opinion on him. Need more than some YouTube videos to have a firm opinion. I just know that what I saw, I didn’t like. Not that I’m saying he played poorly or anything, but from what I could see it didn’t look like NFL talent. Lot of time left til we know for sure though heh. I also thought Mahommes was gonna be trash...

Beautiful arcing deep ball and can place it in a bucket. Solid accuracy on the run. Looks down his target way too often but I think thats a consequence of playing for the best school in that confrence. Would like to see him put more velocity in his bullet passing and how he does in tighter windows.

Dunno about him starting but I do like him more than Fields.
