This is what happens when teams allow their center to take Derrick Brown on without help. 

Special shout out to Brian burns here also by not over pursuing. That is discipline.

Again, KK is doubled leaving the center on Brown. Similar result.

But even when you do give the center some help, Derrick Brown still disrupts the play. 

Derrick won't get on the stat sheet for this particular play, but he absolutely disrupted the play enough to allow Obada to make the tackle. It looked like a hole may have opened up to the left until Derrick Brown swallowed it.

Was KK making enough of an impact in the game to warrant a double team?

This is something we didn't see with KK out of the lineup. Without him, Brown had 2 guys working on him most of the game.

The defense lines up in order to dictate wo gets double teamed. The offense is set then the DL aligns how they want to, to a degree at least. The DL has input on this.

Going through the All 22, Derrick Brown really does appear to already be a top tier defensive tackle in this league. The guy is a wrecking ball out there in run defense. He is going to be a huge headache for every offensive coordinator on the schedule.

I think thats the immediate impact Hurney and co was banking on over Simmons. Everybody who knows football could see he is still a work in progress as a pass rusher which i think he will improve. His impact isnt gonna show all on a stat sheet.
