It’s not disrespectful to say we should’ve gone another direction instead of making him the highest paid rb in the league. Rbs on second contracts tend to start getting injured and missing time(he just did after two games) and rarely earn that money they sign. There is actual data on this across the league. I hope I’m wrong for the Orgs sake but I expect cmc to get dinged up again and again and miss time throughout this contract. Hopefully this is just a blip.
 

the only saving grace is that he is a legit slot wr. So he adds value from that and can still play at a high level once his wheels start to fall off a bit. I’m hoping we decrease his workload but at that point is he even worth that big money? He’s paid as the focal point of the offense. Time will tell. It’s pretty obvious we have a legit OC who could make things happen with a rb by committee.

Again. He’s an elite player, I just would’ve used that money elsewhere or rolled it over.

I disagree.  No defense that starts Tahir Whitehead in the middle is ever going to be solid.

because Davis did well against arguably the worst defenses in the league everyone thinks cmc is replaceable just by eyeballing stats with no consideration of game planning, game plan and player progression, schemes, mismatches, adjustments or offensive gameplans.

There’s been a couple posts on him on how well he’s been playing for them. Right now he’s ranked #2 only behind Jaire Alexander by PFF. I know some people hate PFF but he’s played like a top CB this year.

I totally believe that fantasy points show who is being productive and this CMC dude is the BEST.  Our cap is fine and you gotta pay somebody, why not the BEST.

Crazy that this has to be said... CMC is our best player on offense and the kind of talent you can build around. Imagine when Teddy, CMC, Anderson, Moore, Samuel, and Davis get going full speed! We could really have one if the best offenses in the league very soon.

It's past funny how finicky people are on the Huddle. CMC, in my opinion, is headed towards being the best RB in Panthers history. He goes out with his first injury of his career, we finally have a coaching staff to make the right adjustments to keep the team moving forward and people want to trade him, second guess his contract, etc. Always looking for a negative angle to exploit. Doesn't sound like fans...
