It's not gaining steam, in fact many more reputable sources have said that they are not shopping him at all (which is more believable). Day 3 pick is retarded, whoever that Chris Trapasso guy is, he's a dumbass. Every team in the league would trade a 2nd rounder for him right now, even the Jets aren't dumb enough to do it for that.

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/10/27/jets-may-be-open-to-quinnen-williams-trade/ New York daily News have reported it. So yes it is a lot of smoke around this.. this isnt the first time its been rumored which is why I wrote this post a few weeks ago.

It will take multiple picks. Im sure one of them being a second. Just be depends on the demand. If they move him it would be the highest bidder. If your willing to move a 2 you might as well go the distance with a 4-7 behind it. I would do it. What do we have coming. Back in the form of compensational picks? All that we moved this off-season we have to have something..

And I know we signed a few guys but the loss of addision mccoy, bradberry, irving so on has to yield something we can throw at them.

We are likely getting two comp 6ths

I'd rather keep our draft selections. We might get two average players vs just one.

Thats a very conservative take. My thinking is Williams when put in the dame class would go higher than brown. Thats already a key building block. A dominate inside rusher who is playing well and consider their BEST defensive player. and we're gonna say no to that for the price of a greg little and a troy pride jr...

There's smoke because it's the Jets and they've traded other players like Adams. Sure he may be available for the right price, but that is different than the Jets actually shopping him. Who is initiating the phone calls here? Reports from today seem to indicate it's other GMs, with the Jets taking calls, but that is different than the Jets calling other teams to see what they'll pay for him, or them shopping him. I absolutely believe that he's available, but he's not going to be given away. It'll almost certainly take more than a 1st round pick for him. I wouldn't be willing to give up that much.

It's not about this season. It's about seasons to come. He's only 23 years old and he has two years left on his rookie contract plus a third year option.

Getting this guy for a day three pick is almost certainly a pipe dream. If they're dumb enough to do it we should absolutely take advantage of that.

Yeah I would be all over this unless there's something going with him that we don't know about.  Sounds too good to be true.

It likely is. If they actually start entertaining offers, the opening bid will likely already be more than a third day pick. Practically every team in the NFL would be lined up ready to make that deal. The biggest reason why I think they could deal Williams is because their current GM didn't draft him. But yeah, I think the trade compensation if it happens will be significant.

They want to stock pile draft picks for a new HC and to build around Trevor

I wouldn't hate the idea but I just think that the picks might edge out in terms of value in the long run.

He seems to be picking up his game this year. Why would the Jets trade him?

Well from what I get from people who know football is Williams is playing well. And like others have stated new gm didnt draft him.. and want to stockpile picks to build around Lawrence is my guess...

From what the talking heads say he's playing well and already labeled their best defensive player.
