Bridgewater was almost a Bear

Joe Person mentioned in his analysis of this weekend's game that the Bears were in talks with Bridgewater before he signed with us.

No word on what the difference was, but since it was a quick turnaround you can speculate more years or more money. Joe Brady could also have been a factor.

So between Bridgewater and Davis, the Bears will have two players that could have been theirs.

At 4-1, likely not yet but I think that time will come soon even though I like Foles.

I agree. Right now, probably not. But we’ll see how the rest of the year plays out. I’m still shocked they didn’t roll with Cam. Though, that would have been a lot of pressure on Bisky with Cam on the sideline waiting for him to screw up.

All I’m sayings...... if Teddy plays out the rest of the year like he did the first quarter...We got a steal for 20 million a year. Fight me.

Absolutely agree. If he can maintain that level of play then he absolutely deserves the spot and we don’t need to think about QB until he isn’t maintaining that level.

That is probably the only time I’ve ever read “fears Trubisky’s presence”. Not really discounting that report, just noticing the wording lol

Yeah, they wanted him to participate in some sort of fake QB competition.  It's pretty well known on the Bears boards that Foles was the best QB in the (admittedly limited) preseason, but Nagy anointed his bust of a first round pick the starter.

Teddy wasn't afraid, he just didn't want to play that game.

Yeah, I was going to say I wouldn't be afraid to bet on myself versus Mitch Trubisky.

Now with that said, no competition is still better than weak competition.

Teddy's just getting warmed up....this contract (while probably short-lived) will end up looking like the steal of the decade.

    • I was here the past two weeks while you dominated every thread with constant complaining. I decided I wasn't going to try even posting with all that negative crap. All of you would  have found great amusement in trying to attack anyone with a more reasoned  positive approach. So I waited until now to come here to celebrate a win. Not to champion Bryce. It was only after you and others make negative comments despite the huge win that I commented. I am a Panther fan not a Bryce fan or Bruce hater. I will support him as long as he is a Panther. After that he is largely dead to me. But again won't go back and forth. I have nothing to defend and just going to enjoy the win.
    • Bar is on the floor boss.  And he remains way too inaccurate even in the most conservative asks of a gameplan.
    • Josh Allen is a playmaker and the closet thing to Cam Newton the league has seen.  So yeah, Bryce isn’t…..just like Josh Allen  Buffalo does not have better personnel than us across the board on offense.  Their leading WR last year was freaking Shakir followed by a disappointing rookie season by rookie WR.  We had the most expensive OL in the NFL last year.  A rock solid backfield.  With comparable WR talent.  If give them a clear TE edge but it’s a wash given out OL investment.  what they do have is a QB that makes everyone human in the field around him better.
