I mostly agree with you but what kills me is when he either decides to back into the tackle because he’s afraid of an impact from the front or he does his version of a spin move. I can’t tell which it’s supposed to be, but he backs into tackles losing precious yards every other time he’s tackled.  Has cost us what would be a first down a few times. But, with that said, he’s moved the ball with his legs better than I ever expected him to and that god tier TD scramble a couple games ago buys him some rope in regards to running the ball with me heh

I gotta cut the guy a little slack here. If I had basically internally amputated my own leg a few years ago I probably wouldn't be running with reckless abandon on an NFL field either.

From what I hear Hurney wanted to extend Cam.  Didn't hear any numbers mentioned but that seems to have been a consistent rumor around BOA.

This would fit Hurney's historical M.O. I definitely wanted Cam here this season, but I definitely didn't want him extended. We had him under contract for what was basically middle of the road starting QB money in 2020. Perfect opportunity for a prove it year, but extending a veteran battling injury issues over the past few seasons would've been a really dumb move

It fits Hurney to a T.  That's why I believe it.

I'm honestly not seeing that. He ran hard on Sunday, he just ran awkwardly and slowly because he's not a very good runner. I don't think anyone expected him to be much of a threat with his legs.

He did have a few indecisive hitches Sunday where it looked like he wanted to run after his read wasn't there.

But then the pocket collapsed.

His best runs he had time to giddyup.

I feel fairly certain that if Jerry Richardson still owned the Panthers, Newton would have received a mega extension.

Can you see Cam coming to the sidelines in full pout-mode......and how Rhule deals with that? 3 towels on heads, frown, and ignoring surface pad. Teddy fits better for what Rhule wants here for sure.

I honestly doubt Rhule would care as long as Cam was coachable and a good teammate. Never heard anything about Cam not being coachable or being a bad teammate. Ever seen Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady on the sideline when things go sour?

I always hated the rah rah "leadership" BS guys in my playing days. How about you just STFU and play? Oh, you just turned it over? How about you STFU and quit fuging up while you're at it?

    • Don't have to be miss cleo. His weakness are length, athleticism, creating his own shot, defense, finishing at the rim,  Strengths - shooting and IQ.   Likely won't work as non athletic shooters don't typically work.

    • I live in Indiana and took a trip that weekend to watch my two friend's teams play (Chiefs and Vikings) IN Minnesota when they were playing at a college field, I think TCF? Anyways, our plan was to watch the game (noon game) then do some shopping at the Mall of America, I wasn't planning on watching the Panthers play Seattle since I was out sight seeing and walking around after the noon game had ended. By the time we were walking back into the Mall the Panthers were down by 2 scores in the 4th or going into the 4th and we were all thirsty from walking around for 2.5 hours after the Vikings game so we decided to postpone shopping until after we ate. We found this nice little sports bar inside the mall that had the game on. Man, I'm so glad we skipped shopping because that was probably the most excited I've been in some time for a win. Beating Seattle in 2015 felt like the "monkey off the back" sort of feeling and I knew we had finally arrived as a team. The entire bar erupted when Cam hit Olsen for that walk off TD. Literally one of the greatest moments of my life. My friend wasn't so happy though lol, by the time the Panthers game ended ALL of the stores inside the mall had closed and he wasn't able to get any souvenirs. It was his first time watching a Vikings game live and making a trip like that so he was legit upset lol. I on the other hand couldn't have been happier.
