Yeah, but not sure how they calculate the probability of a 65 yard FG attempt when they don't even know what Slye's range is.

I thought it was insane until I saw how close Slye came. After seeing that, yeah Slye kicking a 65 yarder was a better option than going for 4th and 20 or whatever it was when throwing deep isn't our strong suit.

While I don't disagree with this at all, the real questions there are:

1.  Did Teddy read the defense properly at the line?  If no, it's 100% on Teddy.

2.  Assuming Teddy read it correctly, did he have a play to check to that was faster developing?  If he didn't, that's 100% on Brady.

Valid questions and not sure we'll know...  but, I just don't know why we got away from the snugs and bunch stuff we were running when we needed yardage earlier and got it?  Like I said, as much as I love Brady, he has really gotten too cute or seemingly overthought things late.

I knew he had a huge leg, but that was mind blowing.  And I still maintain he could've made it with ease if he had drove it a little more.  He got a lot underneath it, judging from the trajectory.  I think if he drives it a little more, that's an easy make but the fact he kicked it dead center, had air underneath it, and still only missed by a foot or so with no wind or altitude aid is absolutely astonishing.  I hope we give him the chance to get the record again at some point.

Honestly, it's forgivable at this point.  We keep forgetting, this is his FIRST YEAR EVER as a coordinator AT ANY LEVEL.  For heaven's sake, the man only has seven years of coaching experience PERIOD.

It could still go either way and he could flame out and fail, but I don't think so.  I think given a couple years experience and a better team to coordinate for, he's gonna be amazing.

Yep. That ball was kicked HIGH. And it would've still been good from 64. That would've been good from close to 70 in Denver

Eh, he should direct that focus to Phil Snow and the defense.

Honestly, if Teddy didn’t take the sack and we made a FG, our defense wasn’t stopping Brees from getting in FG range with multiple timeouts. We needed a TD as time expired to win that game.

They only gave up six points in the 2nd half. Once again, the D gave the offense the chance to be the hero and they came up short.

Truth. And that's why NO wasn't too worried about kicking the FG there late. They had us right where they wanted us the entire time, with a lot of help from the refs.

    • From Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/nutshellsportz.bsky.social/post/3mo3rkrcezs2e  A look at Run Threat Rate across the NFL Run Threat Rate is the percentage of plays where a team either runs the ball or uses play action. This compares each team’s rate when leading or tied versus when trailing to show how much they abandon the run when playing from behind.
    • That's the current dilemma on both parties at the moment. If Ickey comes back too soon, he won't be 100% and his play will suffer. Leading to a potential decrease in his contract. If Ickey is unable to play and sits the entire 2026 season, his contract will still take the same hit since it tells all 32 team that he is not fully recovered. On the Panthers side, I'm sure they would want to keep Ickey if he is fully recovered but he is obviously in a contract year. They don't want to re-sign him to a massive deal since it be too risky and they know if Ickey is able to return to form.  Best case scenario, the Panthers wants to offer Ickey a 1-2 year heavily incentive based prove it deal. However, Ickey would most likely decline the offer and test the market as  another team can come in and offer Ickey a better deal if they are desperate enough for O-line help.
    • They have been giving him a lot of snaps at RT to give TMo some relief in camp. I think that will continue for the time being.
