So what's wrong with Bridgewater?

Bridgewater is far from the only guy for whom the physical toll was too much, too soon. And as I said in the original post, having a major injury didn't help matters.

Heck, take a look at Luke Kuechly. Even among his peers, Kuechly is a superior athletic specimen. But just eight years into his career, his body told him he couldn't do it anymore.

That's what football fatigue can do.

I see your point now, man, you don't gotta destroy me in this argument any further! Bridgewater is too fatigued to play well in Week 11.  And your examples of Bettis, Brady, Kuechly, Morgan, etc. have all proven this to me, no matter what the stats say.

Players don't wear and tear the same, and unfortunately, Bridgewater has fell to the injury of "fatigue" this early in his career.

Nothing is wrong with Bridgewater. He's been what we should've expected. He's pretty much been what he always has been. If we were expecting more then that's on us and our evaluation of him. I said when we signed him that the more film opposing teams got on him the worse he'd look.

I'll admit that he had me fooled. I knew that he was never going to be a hurl it 40 yards downfield 10 times a game guy, but that didn't matter. We had 3 receivers that are good at YAC, and CMC! As long as he could keep the chains moving, I was all aboard the Teddy Train. What I did expect from him that I haven't gotten, was that he'd play very smartly. I thought he'd protect the ball , get through his reads quickly, and be deadly accurate on everything less than 15 yards. Kinda like the Brees lite that he was being billed as. Unfortunately, this isn't what I've seen, especially in the redzone and without CMC being a huge-ass band aid.

Teddy No Swag

I never imagined I could see a starting QB with less charisma and general likeability than Russell Wilson, but here you go. He’s ridden the injury comeback angle for all he can.

Zero killer instinct. Sub par defensive recognition. Terrible audibles. Inability to hit the easy passes with any consistency.

I don’t see much value in him at all right now, and 100% think it is time to move on already. Start PJ.

I'm not sure why anybody expected more from teddy. He's exactly as I expected... I still think he has good value as a mentor for our next qb... Personally, I want to see PJ get some more reps before the season ends. He showed arm strength and I don't imagine he can be any worse than teddy in the 4th. Both have made some bonehead picks, but at least PJ is just a rookie.

If I’m the next QB, I’m fine with my coaches working with me rather than Teddy if it means I have Moton at tackle. $21M a year is way too much to spend on a mentor and a guy who is 3-8 and would rather run the ball with the game on the line than win it himself.

The contract should tell you Hurney needs to be fired.

Hurney should no doubt, 100% be fired but it's really not a bad contract, at all for a 2020 NFL starting QB.  It's only 3 years, we have an out after two.

In fact the lowest non-rookie contract out of the starting QBs to start the season minus Fitzpatrick & Tyrod.

This isn’t difficult:

The team is FULL of new players and coaches. They have dealt with injuries. Players and coaches are ALL still adjusting to each other. The offensive line stinks and the defense is still in makeover mode. People here thinking that the Panthers could be a playoff team this year need to put the instant coffee down. Teddy if fine...way fine. Brady and Rhule know that Bridgewater can lead the team to where they want to go. With a healthy CMC, upgraded offensive line, and even better defense, by this time next year the Teddy H8trs are going to be feasting on a big plate of crow. This thing is a process. This has been a GREAT learning year. And the good thing is they will have a solid draft position to work on what they already have plans to continue their rebuilding process.

The contract tells me that he was given a fair shot at being "the guy" while also having a team-friendly deal on a guy that will mentor the heir to the position.

I genuinely cannot understand all of the hate he undeservedly received from Cam stans, wannabe capologists, and armchair GMs that make Marty Hurney look competent with their evaluation skills.

All in all though (Huddle toxicity aside), this has been an incredibly fun season to be a part of. A young team that is fighting and developing with a coaching staff that seems to already be ahead of the previous regime. If we can get improvements in the front office (especially in cap mgmt & talent eval), rebuild the OL, and continue to see defensive improvements then this team is gonna do work.
