I honestly don’t see a team in the NFC that matches what the saints bring. Their defense is far and away the best in the conference and their offense doesn’t really have a weakness.

Id like to see Minnesota get in just to screw with them mentally, but I think they cake walk through the NFC and then get a tough test with either Pittsburgh or KC.

The Saints have played a very weak schedule.  I think they have played four games against winning teams, and lost two of them.  Their two wins were against the Bucs.  They lost to the Raiders and Green Bay.  The Saints have one remaining tough game, against the Chiefs.  Green Bay's toughest game is against TN.  GB and NO could end up tied, which means a Jan trip to Lambeau field for NO.

He didn’t want to stay here dude. And who could blame him? We’re a perennial cellar-dweller.

Nobody ever considers that the player is half the equation if not more. We were told well in advance that Bradberry was looking to leave. Like Star

Saints have a true team, they have a legit "star/all-pro" at every single position group...including STs. Cam Jordan is just as good if not better than Kmack, hes gets no media love. Healthy Kamara is looking like he should be the highest paid RB, not CMC. I hope they continue the epic playoff failures, this should be the last year for them being at in elite status.

meh, we will see.  Their defense is great, but I don't think their offense has been that good over the last several weeks, even before Brees went out.  Good enough to win against weak teams.  But KC will be at another level.  So will Green Bay, and even the Rams if they play them in the playoffs.

They really aren't though. Not elite players. Not when the franchise tag exists.

You seriously wanted us to spend $16 million for a 1-year rental of Bradberry in a rebuilding season where we had no chance of competing (as you’ve stated repeatedly)? So we could maybe end up 6-10 instead of 5-11?

You would've had a chance to re-sign him with a new staff or you could've traded him. The players evidently love Rhule. Seems that people forget that early indications were that we were prioritizing re-signing Bradberry, but early in negotiations our numbers were way far apart and we never revisited. We instead gave a pile of money in a fairly average starting LB.

A lot of people were fine paying Short and Okung $27M (not even counting Shaq) and now all of a sudden franchising Bradberry hoping to extend him is so bad because we weren’t going to be competitive? Where were the don’t sign Bradberry because we won’t be competitive people back before we shelled out almost $100M in cap?

    • Smith-Wade for me. He has the path to some decent hefty snaps in Evero’s scheme. He held his own last year and improved as he continued to get snaps— If he makes some strides, could be a very capable nickel.  I agree with Sanders. Bryce had some trust in him that final Falcons game post crazy head-stand.  Bryce looked for him a lot that final game and made some critical catches to get us the W. Seems he’s put in major work so I’m hopeful about him.  Wallace will have an offseason under his belt. I like him a lot, was higher graded than most remember in his draft (I.e Brugler had him LB3/70 overall) but he isn’t as cerebral of an LB as we’re used to. I think he could thrive if we get D captain/film-junky type next to him— because right now that’s Jewell.  Still a bit cautious but love the talent. Rozeboom may snag some playing time from him if he’s still working out the kinks.
    • Didnt Canales already say starters are playing in the pre season? either way extra reps dont hurt but im not one of those people that think playing in the pre season would have saved Bryce from an awful start.
    • very helpful.  I read back in this thread where they might try Jarvis at C--I thought he and Aho had good chemistry, however.  Nonetheless, he could expand his value there, and now we have a guy who can play jarvis' spot.  Freddie is a pro, no doubt--and as little as I know about the inner workings of strategy and positions, I could tell Burns was burning us at times.  I figured he'd retire and I was looking forward to it.  FWIW, they have Jarvis listed as a C on the 2025-26 roster.
