Looks like it’s going to be a FULL SEND boys on quarterback because Tepper has realized teddy ain’t it.. and theirs a reason why they made teddy’s contract cutable and before you guys start saying Wilson go look at the full game on YouTube of him playing against Coastal Carolina

Eh, one game isn’t going to make me not want him. Same thing with Lance or Fields. I would still take all 3 in a heartbeat.

Also Wilson didn't play bad at all that game. His receivers dropped a ton of passes, his line didn't block, and he was still within a yard of winning.

BYU as a whole played bad, but Wilson was one of the few who didn't.

I don't think this is some grand pronouncement.  Very few players should be comfortable with their job security on a 4-10 team, and everything in the NFL begins with the Quarterback.

Outside of CMC, Robby, DJ, Moton (who we better keep), Burns, Chinn, Brown, & Shaq (while you might not agree with the contract, he has been good and he definitely is in the team plans next year), there is no one on the team that should be automatically slotted as a starter.

I like Teddy, but objectively he has regressed since that knee tweak.  Right now it's hard to see a wide gap in play between Teddy and what we had last year with a 2nd-year UDFA in Kyle Allen.

It's not conducive to winning football.

I don't know if the draft is the best option given our other needs (unless there is a guy they feel confident in outside of Trevor Lawrence cause we ain't getting him), but we can't go into next year IMO with Teddy as the unquestioned starter.

That being said, while I don't think Teddy can get us to a Super Bowl, he's probably going to be on the team next year, and with a decent chance of starting.

I do honestly believe had CMC been healthy all year, we are closer to 8-8 than not (although it's better for us long-term to have a higher draft pick this year).

So the question becomes, should we continue to add to the team with Teddy or another FA QB, or go for broke and draft what we hope will be another franchise QB.

I do believe Teddy can get a team to 10-11 wins in the right circumstances.  A whiff on a QB that you spend top 5 draft capital on can set you back years.

It is a tough decision.  And as fans, there are a million opinions.  All we can do is hope Rhule, Tepper, and whoever else can get it right.

Inside sources say tepper is demanding we trade up for Lawrence.

You have to have a willing partner to do so.

Lawrence would be amazing for this franchise (and any other) from not only a football standpoint but it would be a marketing coup for Tepper with the Clemson ties.

Jacksonville is not blind to this, either.  If I'm the owner of the Jags (Shahid Khan), I'm threatening to fire anyone who jeopardizes the Jaguars tank the last 2 games.

Unfortunately, I don't believe even with Tepper's money he is going to be able to work this deal

Jags haven't had any luck as QB in the draft for the past... ever, why would that start now?

I'm 100% positive they will give it another shot with Lawrence.

Seriously, if the Panthers were in the same situation as the Jaguars, would you consider any trade to not draft Lawrence?  I don't think I would.

What would KC trade Mahomes for right now?  There is no amount.

If Lawrence has a chance to be that good, there simply is no justification from a football standpoint.

And given where they are as a franchise, they need the spark of drafting a guy like Lawrence more than draft picks.

I really do hope the Panthers inquire about trading up for Lawrence, I just honestly don't see any scenario where the Jaguars even consider trading the pick, much less considering what it would take in terms of draft capital to do so and how much it could potentially handcuff the Panthers going forward.

    • It would be nice to see #9 prove people like this laughably wrong. That's why many Panthers fans myself included were wanting to see how much time he'd dedicated to his craft following the conclusion of the season but then he showed up and let everyone know he pretty much crawled under a rock. Somehow the Panthers social team though this was rather amusing after what we'd sacrificed for the rights to draft him It's interesting that we go from Levis being least desirable of the class and a complete and total meathead that would alienate himself from his teammates to being talked up as possibly emerging as one of the better young QB's entering the 2024 season. Man what a whirlwind the last 12 months have been for the people who fully bought the hype machine in the lead up to the 2023 NFL draft and did victory laps like they had their very own sports almanac from BTTF. Life comes at you fast folks.
    • You either need to do waaay more drugs or waaay less drugs, your current intake is not right. Sorry I can not advise on which path to take.
    • He's routinely a great watch.  Good content.  I like his optimism on Chubba in our scheme, allows us to bring in Brooks at an optimal pace relative to his recovery (who we got obviously to be our new guy, could become the focal point of this offense) The two news OGs will have no issue playing our offense coming from familiar schemes, one in Hunt being league top, is going to be huge for our running game more than anything.  I also liked him maintaining some optimism with Icky.   Seeing his page and commentary on our defense really puts in perspective how much turnover we have.  It should feel like a much different team (hopefully better) especially that front-7.  Jewell is going to be better than people expect, he was super unheralded for Denver and is just a smart closer who played against the Chiefs routinely well.
