My first mock draft.

For those of you that care, I just made my first mock draft. I haven't heard a ton of things about the upcoming draft, but from what I have, I think I have put together a pretty solid list adding my own knowledge on the prospects as well.

I hadn't really considered it. It probably won't be that cheap, but we do have the ammo to do it.

Yeah was just curious. I'd be all for it to get "our guy" at QB, whether that be Lance, Wilson or Fields. Going by this trade chart (https://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-Value-Chart.asp): we could do it for this year's 3rd and 5th... But when QBs are involved it's usually much more. I'm not too keen on giving up this year's 2nd, but I may do something like 2021 and 2022 3rd round picks to move up to 6ish. If we have to go higher and give up this year's 2nd then so be it, but I doubt it'll be too expensive if we really do love one of these QBs.

I was told by the Huddle that the first 6 picks would all be QB. This list is wrong.

This information is 100% accurate and cannot be disputed

It is looking to be a very offensive first round this year---I see 3 positions taking in half of the draft picks in round 1:

  • The WR class is really good this year-- I see 5 potential first round WRs
  • There will probably be 6 QBs drafted in the first round
  • There could be 6 OTs taken this year, but 5 is more realistic

Throw in 1 or 2 TEs, 1 or 2 RBs, 2-3 interior OL---and I could easily see 20 picks on the offensive side.

Defensively, there is some sick depth at CB:

  • CB--5 CBs should have first round grades.
  • DE/Edge--4 if you count Collins from Tulsa
  • LB--2 maybe 3.
  • DT-2 or so.
  •  S--nope. not this year. (There is good depth at S in this draft, no elite players)

    • I wonder if the Hornets view Kon and McNeeley more as forwards and plan to ship off Green/Okogie/Smith for center help. I hope they don’t plan to ship off Sexton as I like what he brings to the team. (2) G - Ball, Mann, Simpson (two-way) (3) G - Sexton, Dinwiddie, Connaughton (3) F - Miller, Knueppel, McNeeley, James (two-way) (3) F - Bridges, Williams, Salaun (3) C - Diabate, Kalkbrenner, Plumlee
    • 3 main reasons he was better in 2023 and none of them concern me for his NFL prospects 1. Totally new coaching staff that was a massive downgrade and had god awful play calling and designs, the entire fan base was ready to run the coaching staff out of town a month into their first season and the play caller ended up getting changed because it was so bad. 2. Along with the staff downgrade, his QB played significantly worse after being the Pac 12 Freshman of the Year in 2023.  Constantly missed T-Mac when he was wide open, lost out on a number of TDs and a good amount of yardage, half the time T-Mac still almost made miraculous catches on the bad passes too. 3. He hurt his ankle over the summer and missed all of fall camp only to return to practice a few days before the season started and I think he had to deal with it all season long and was slightly limping at times mid season too, but kept fighting through it to still be a 1st team All American.
    • Good luck to Burns. He’s fine as a third pairing defensemen but Rod is too stubborn to do that.
