The price is getting SET at three first round picks, and it will easily climb higher. Question is, will Tepper really get outbid on this one?

The structuring of guaranteed salary has changed the game on "dead money". A signing bonus used to account for the bulk of dead money. But if a player gets traded to a new team, only the prorated signing bonus hits their dead cap, the guaranteed salary becomes the "problem" of the new team. But if a team straight out cuts a player, they would take the full hit.

I just don't think we're in the roster situation to do it. We can't give up THAT much with all of our other needs. That's the type of deal that a team that thinks they're an elite QB away from a SB makes. Teams that come to mind... Bears, Niners, the Saints or Bucs if/when Brees and/or Brady retires, etc.

Whoever on here gave that dead cap number it’s wrong.  On the radio and everywhere I’m looking it’s 21 million pre June 1st trade and post is 5 million in dead cap.

watson makes this team a contender. we won 5 games and what like 8 of our losses came down to the last possession? he's locked up for years and a proven product. not only does he fit the window of this team long term he accelerates the opening. it's a no brainer.
