Word was that the Lions were going to try for Colbert. Guess they want him back after being stupid enough to let him go twenty years ago (and hiring Matt Millen instead).

Now the Lions are interviewing Ed Dodds a day after he backed out of our GM search.

For the last several years, Fitterer has worked alongside Trent Kirchner. Kirchner has Panther connections. He worked here for a while in the scouting department before moving on to Seattle. pretty much every time we've had a job opening, Kirchner has been connected to it.

But we're interviewing Fitterer and not Kirchner. Haven't seen any indication that we're set to interview Ryan Cowden either.

Connections to the old regime don't seem to mean much.

That's probably not a coincidence. I take it Tepper wants to severe any connection to the old regime.

• Adam Peters
• Ryan Poles
• Jerry Reese
• Joe Schoen
• Brand Tillis

The guys in Bold have been interviewed by other teams so we I'd say they aren't top priorities or at least our feelings wouldn't be hurt if they were hired somewhere else. Everyone else hasn't interviewed anywhere else, so I suppose there's no need to rush into a decision.

Well, Schoen's a former Panthers scout.

He's the only one with any sort of ties to the Richardson Panthers that we've even looked at.

Might want to take a look to see if there's an interview request from the Panthers (just in case).

What are the specifics around hiring and teams in the post season. Do they wait until their team loses and then there is a mad dash of offers from interested teams? That seems dumb if so.

Cast a wide net, works for me. Doesn’t hurt to consider all options as long as our preferred option doesn’t slip away in the process.

That's a very negative way to look at it. Though to be expected from Panthers fans. We'd here the exact opposite if they interviewed a narrow field of candidates and hired in haste.

Yep, I got my interview request and accepted, but Tepper might not meet my demands.  I mean following Hurney the bar is set fairly low, so how could I fail?  Hit on the first round guy and then go golfing the rest of the draft.  Sounds like a cushy job too.
