Unfortunately it will be till March. But if you can stand 4 months of draft talk I think we can stand this.

Draft talk is a cornucopia of rumors, trade talks, prospects. This is the same BS we’ve been hearing and posting about for grossly 2 weeks now and the needle hasn’t really moved.

Y'all realize that his no trade clause gives him the right not decline being traded to a team he does not want to go? Meaning if he doesn't want to go to the JETS, he does not GO there. Watson has leverage here guys. If he wants to play for you he will accept the trade.

Is that still true if he formally requested a trade?

Jonathan Jones estimated it would take first round picks, Christian McCaffrey and Brian Burns.

Other teams have way more draft capital than we do. And if you're counting on Watson saying he only wants to go to the Panthers, that's probably a pipe dream.

Doesnt matter what other teams got. That clause has to be satisfied. Not a pipe dream.

You geniuses who keep saying we can't outbid the Jets and Miami know that there's nothing they can offer that we can't just compensate for by adding picks from additional years yes?  There's no Stepian rule in the NFL as far as I know

You have to look at cap space, too. And let's not forget New England has a poo-ton of cap room, need a QB and so does Indianapolis. And nobody seems to be thinking about them.

If you're clinging to the idea that Watson is going to demand he be traded to the Panthers and the Panthers only, and that because of this the Texans are going to trade him for less than what he's worth, you're likely going to wind up very disappointed.

no trade clause.  couldnt he force a trade with us if our organization was where he wantd to play?

Not that easily.

But like I've said a couple of times already, anybody who thinks he's absolutely got his heart set on playing for the Panthers and will force the Texans to trade him for a lesser offer just to play for us probably needs to put down the Madden controller.

    • So what about their sign is not compliant or causing the issue according to the rules? Them always having it, or the amount of time they have had it, or their loyalty to the team is not relevant to this situation. To be clear, I know next to nothing about this situation, just trying to clarify.  I have no dog in this fight and am emotionless on this topic. If you are breaking a rule, you do not get special treatment just because you have been here breaking it a long time.
    • The team fell for that late season averageness he displayed last year and got burned. You want to do that again? I don’t.  But I sort of do agree that we are stuck with him as the starter.  I can’t decide whether replacing him gets us into the playoffs so suffering through one last season is the price for freedom in 2026.  Three ways to be free in 2026: He actually plays like a real NFL QB,  The team sends him packing. Be completely out on tne Panthers until changes are made.
    • Short version = these people have had those seats since the beginning and haven't missed a game. They have always had their sign. They had to change the sign - I think in 2015 when Cam ripped that Packers fan's banner down (love him for that, by the way) - to be compliant and haven't had any issues in the last 10 years. The Panthers even used a photo of them and their sign in their album from the Falcons game. In the 3rd quarter last weekend it was decided that the sign needed to come down. Seems weird and unnecessary, especially since it has been there for every game for a decade.   EDIT: they've had it since 2003. Still a long-ass time.... Also "cringe" is a funny word for someone over the age of 18 who lives and overshares on the Huddle. But, ok....
