Hypothetical team combos from 2003, 2015

The top seems like the fairly obvious answer if only for the 2003 defense and Smith and a les cutesy running game. But which offensive line is the most important decision that has been left out.

Fox teams seemed to rise to the occasion more.

I think Henning and Cam might not have been a bad combo.

Definitely the top on personnel but I don’t trust John Fox with Cam Newton. Even Rivera was more innovative than Fox was.

Coaching questions on this give me pause.

John Fox would have absolutely no idea what to do with Cam Newton and would use an OC that wouldn't either. That likely blunts Newton's impact.

On the flipside, while Norv Turner could probably work well with Delhomme, Jake wouldn't have the ability to save a game the way Rivera frequently needed Cam to.

On the flip side though. I always wanted Cam behind center more often. I think he could have shined in a traditional offense if Rivera didn’t go for the quickest route to success. He limited what the offense could do when we relied so heavily on RPO. We got predictable.

2011 When Cam was a rookie was a ton of fun because Chud and Cam took it as a challenge to air it out. We did a lot of single back and I formations that year.

    • Dave in a presser gassed up Anthony Tyus III and dying to see him on the field.  I mean 3 is all that needed right, and Dan loves etienne. He's one year filling in his body. If brooks is back, toss in chubba, thats 3.
    • After seeing hits in the last two UDFA pools, I do not in this group sorta of a let down after I gassed myself up.  Not like I know of their games, but just expected more. The duke DT only has to beat out hunte (2025 UDFA) or Ray (DL coach's kid) or even Cam Jackson mid 2025 5th.  I thought they would bring in more edges, IOL, TEs, etc...
    • My 2 favorite picks, since you didn't ask? 3. Brazzell II.  A 1000 yard WR with 4.37 speed and checks all the boxes for a Z Wide Receiver.  IN THE THIRD ROUND!!! 5.  Sam Hecht.  I think he will take over as the starter at some point this season and never look back.  IN THE FIFTH ROUND. Runner Up:  2. Hunter:  We were targeting a DT early in this draft because we did very little to replace Robinson in free agency.  Hunter was our guy and he will start. In addition to that, you got a starting tackle that should man one side of the new OL we will build for Bryce's second contract. A starting WR, offensive lineman, defensive lineman and possible Offensive tackle (at some point during this year from this draft will start.  UNREAL. In addition, I don't doubt that Wheatley (5th round) takes the FS job by next year and Lee III is Jackson's replacement in 2027.   Finally, even Kuwatch should be a special teams demon and LB depth.   Last year's draft was so good it was ugly.  This one will turn out to be uglier.  No offense Basbear--this ain't about you.
