The team is a decidedly unfavorable landing spot for incoming QBs unless and until they upgrade their skill position players -- some of the worst in the NFL. The Patriots haven't ruled out re-signing Cam Newton, whose season with the team could most charitably be described as forgettable. Howe said the team -- which holds the 15th pick in this spring's NFL Draft -- could trade up and take one of the top three or four QBs.

I think the Patriots are done with our castoffs.  However, it may be possible for poor Teddy to become their bridge QB if they draft Mac Jones.  Poor Teddy, but hey, he has bridge in his name so it's like built-in advertisement.

Teddy's contract is actually reasonable for a starting QB.  The problem is do the Patriots consider him a legit starter or a top-tier backup?

Back in the day, Marty tried to swing a trade of Julius Peppers for two second rounders but Belichick said no.

Don't figure we'd ask for anything close to that big a return for Bridgewater.

A day 3 pick or a player-for-player swap is the best I think we could do. 

I'd take a cold ham sandwich AND offer to pet sit Belichick's dog for free while he goes on vacation.  You think he'd settle for that?

Patriots have a shitload of money free, and TB is not that expensive for a starter. Also, its basically a one year deal.

If they want him, why would we give up more than just TB? For team with a lot of cap space, its not a burden to take on TB....

I think the Patriots would have real interest, and I have been saying this for a while now. Bill wanted him last year, not that expensive for a starter, if it doesn't work out he could be cut after season, and Teddy fits their offensive scheme.
