Lol..Relax. Easterby shouldn’t have the job he has, but that doesn’t make his poor choices contagious.

Besides, Cal is responsible for Easterby. Easterby is just doing what he can with his extremely limited skill set and perspective.

I’m sure we’re all friends with lots of people who would make terrible football execs.

Which I'm fine with.

There having been a rumor about us bringing Easterby in? Not so much.

Easterby and Drummond have a close relationship. That matters folks.

I wonder which one of Drummond and Easterby LaCanforna has been talking to about this?  This is kinda out of the blue if there has not been any chatter going on behind the scenes.  Is Drummond our back channel into Houstons Front Office?

Perhaps Drummond has Easterby's ear, and hes using that to negotiate directly with Cal McNair?  Their new GM probably wouldn't appreciate that very much though.

lol to everyone thinking this is not news... For a franchise that is not picking up the phone to hear deals for Watson... we have a connection point within the franchise, let a lone someone with heavy influence.  The expression "its about who you know.." actually plays a role here....

If/when Watson traded to Carolina, Teddy is going to SF.

The 49ers have reached out to the Panthers about a potential trade for Teddy Bridgewater.

The Niners' interest in Bridgewater doesn't necessarily mean they're keen on replacing Jimmy Garoppolo as the team's starter. 49ers general manager John Lynch has said the team needs to upgrade its backup QBs as to avoid a lost season if or when the oft-injured Jimmy G is sidelined. Carolina is among the leaders in the Deshaun Watson sweepstakes, making Bridgewater expendable if a team has a solid offer for the veteran. There's almost no chance Bridgewater starts for Carolina in 2021.

    • I suppose it depends on what you mean as 'elite'. I typically mean someone that can play with lower level pieces around them and still win. There are very few of those.
    • It would obviously be incredible if Brooks came back and just ran away with the job on his opportunities like Rico Dowdle did last year. But any Panthers fan that has been around the block knows better than to go ahead and make plans for that. Brooks has missed a ton of not just playing time but meaningful early career growth in a league that has increasingly devalued the position from an investment standpoint beyond one or two superstars. There's really not any comparison to look back on that lines up with the current iteration of the league at least not favorably. The key thing that this RB room has going for them is our investment in the OL. The highest paid OL in the league two years in a row paired with our staff should make it easier for just about any RB to get into open running lanes. But that is also anything but a given considering our OL was largely middle of the pack last year. In the end it might all be a moot point anyways if we again struggle to establish a viable passing attack.
    • I don't have him making the team and I think same goes for the staff, but they are hopeful for a PS spot.    I mean of course I'd like 3 all-world at RB and every spot, just doesn't work that why. Panthers normally carry 3. dan always talk up Etienne, even called him a future star.....I think Brooks will be fine as a 2 with health pls.....  Chubba can carry a seasons load as lead dawg.    Its fine, I mean backup OGs or CB is much higher on my worry scale(Id even put QB room as worse than RB room too...)
