It's only been 4-days since the news hit...

...you predicting all of DW's sponsors will stay put?

i have no earthly idea what his sponsors will & will not do?

however i do find it a very interesting fact that not a single one of them has terminated their relationship with Watson as the matter currently stands.

The real question that is not being discussed is whether we can afford to take the chance to wait until after the draft to bank on trading for Watson.

I don't believe we'll do that, but we do have Teddy in the event that Tepper wants to gamble. Wouldn't it be ironic if Bridgewater was a reason why we decided to gamble that Watson will eventually be OK to continue his career?

Take this political nonsense out of here.

I think it's very much apropos to the discussion.  Doesn't matter if it's a politician, businessman, movie director, actor, athlete or what.

So it's fair to introduce Harvey Weinstein and Bill Cosby into the discussion too?

Both will die in prison despite none of their accusers ever filing a police report at the time of the incident in question...

Just for comparison's sake, Dannon cancelled Cam Newton's sponsorship deal less than 24 hours after the Jourdan Rodrigue "routes" incident.

I guess that (while nothing that big of a deal) was on camera. The Watson thing is just accusations right now with no presented evidence. Once the NFL or courts make some sort of decision on this, then the sponsors may have an easier time terminating the contracts.

I don’t think that anyone has an idea. I just do not like people saying that he is guilty when only one side of the story has been heard. Perhaps he never plays again, or perhaps he does,   but at this point no one knows.

It is what it is. For comparison's sake, from what we know so far Watson's behavior pales in comparison. That, and the fact that rich guys may even be able to get away with literal murder, I can see where Watson may not be in as much trouble as some believe. And, to be fair, he hasn't even been proven guilty in a court of law.

I believe this situation is going to get a lot uglier. IMO, all the defense really has to do is impugn the testimony of one of the witnesses, or possibly even the veracity of some of Buzbee's personal claims (e.g., he doesn't know the McNair family), then the case(s) starts falling apart.

    • I knew very little about this player before we drafted him. When I read scouting reports about him I understood the pick and thought it made sense as a late round receiver with speed and special teams ability but after watching him more closely and now adding his interviews into the equation I'm actually really excited about him. I know it's just RMC but I noticed him running his routes with this extra step that really stood out to me during the general video posted earlier without realizing who it was doing that.  His speed in his first cut is just on another level and it's visible. When I saw it I was **** whoa, who was that?! Then I saw Horn JR. and my first thought was oh it's him. I think it's very possible that he was under appreciated going into the draft due to his height and stats because he played at Colorado where the attention was on 2 other players but I think this dude's ceiling is way higher than most think it is. Especially after watching his interview. He looks hungry. I may have found my fav rook for this year's pre-season. I like pulling for underdogs anyway and as someone who played on the small side myself it just gives me more reason to cheer for him. The competition at WR looks like it's going to be fierce this season. I honestly can remember any preseason where I looked at out wr group and got past 3 players who I thought were interesting but this season I'm interested in at least 5 who have my attention going into the season.
    • Wilson should be getting called for at least 3 penalties a night even in the post season. How does he not lead the NHL in PM???
