Looks like Jackson and Bouye starting CB’s

Today.

I'm still thinking Pride has a lot of potential considering he got thrown to the wolves last season. Having a veteran probowler and a full off season can't do anything but help him get better. Plus, this move does nothing to deter my hopes of getting a CB by day 2.

Strongly disagree. Pride looked really solid at times and had a decent mid-season stretch. Thomas-Oliver looked quite bad and there were a few notable games where the announcers kept mixing the two up.

Umm yeah OK.  Well at least two other CB graded worse out of the 121.

This is all about taking value in the draft.  CB was the last glaring hole heading into the draft.  I had been drafting two corners in the majority of my mocks.  Now we don't have to reach for any needs.

Exactly! Not a long term piece, but a starting vet that fills the last major hole we had on our roster....we could've done a lot worse.

I still hope we go CB in round 2. This move also should help Pride Jr with a knowledgeable counterpart to help with his maturity.....just stay away from the PEDs.

I’ve noticed more two year deals have been handed out when we’re used to seeing one year deals.

a lot of teams are structuring 2 and 3 year deals because of the lower cap this year.  It could mean we give him a deal that makes it easy to cut him next year, or it could mean we like him that much.  We'll find out in a year.

Do we know the cost? I’m a little concerned that we did a two year deal and that means guaranteed money and possibly a voidable year which you don’t need to do unless you paid a lot.

Keep watching Aaron Wilson's Twitter. He always has contract info as soon as it becomes available.

It’s the same per year we gave Apple and Roberts last year or Searcy the year before.

It’s a fantastic deal if he plays back to his past level. It’s another terrible deal if he plays like last year.

It does feel like we’ve paid a decent amount again to “broken” players again. We done awful with FAs the past few years with only a couple exceptions. Spent a ton of money on retreads and injured players and it hasn’t worked out. Here’s hoping it does. We need a little luck because we are paying a decent amount to guys other teams don’t seem to want.

I go back to saying I think this is truly year one of the rebuild rather than year two.

These are moves like I might expect in a year one.

    • Idk man, I think it’s necessary.  There’s people working 9-5s everyday that get told poo about what they aren’t and what they’re not capable of and they’re working for scraps.  These guys are making millions.  People are watching and invested because their team and fandom is a part of their identity and a big source of pride.  When someone like Bryce comes in and is given chance after chance after chance after proving he is not worthy of the position he’s being gifted, and he continues to be the biggest reason above any that we are losing, yeah…  I think it’s fair to call a spade a spade.  Am I saying Bryce the person is trash?  Bryce the person is a piece of poo?  Absolutely not.     I came up in an era, especially in basketball, where if you were fuging up people heckled the poo out of you.  I played in rec leagues as a teen where the fuging parents were calling kids trash and yelling poo like “TURNOVER!!!  TURNOVER!!!”  “CANT DRIBBLE!”  “CANT SHOOT!”  And that’s adults screaming that poo to kids like we were in the fuging Rucker lol.🤣🤣🤣  I went on to play basketball at a collegiate level and with professional players in different settings.  What those experiences as a kid taught me was to see if there is any merit to what people are saying, and if there is, then work my ass off til they can’t say that anymore.  Come back better, tougher, harder.  And I did.  If kids can figure that poo out, an adult calling another adult who is bad at his job while making millions and millions of dollars will be just fine.
    • I have tried to like this team, lord knows I have tried. BY9 is a nice young man, if I had a daughter he can take her to prom, but he ain't QB1 and he's not Cam or Delhomme Chuba is a average RB, he isn't Stephen Davis, he isn't J-Stew McMillan has the makings of a good WR, but he isn't 89/Moose D. Brown is a great player, but if the game was on the line I want Kris Jenkins       I miss this brand of football, even in the bad Jake games the games were entertaining It has been nearly 8 years now of watching numb football
    • I'm not so sure. Something about the whole Frank/Bryce situation seemed off from day 1. Bryce didn't fit Frank's QB mold as well as Stroud, then he basically gives up when Bryce is named starter in preseason but gets virtually no reps in games. Then he looks completely unprepared and Dalton steps in in Seattle, has a decent game under immense pressure, and it's right back to Bryce. All his mechanics are terrible and he's having the worst rookie season ever and Frank doesn't bench him?  You dont have to be a conspiracy theorist to know Bryce wasn't ready to be a day 1 starter. Everything with Bryce, then coaches, and the FO seemed forced.
