He's not exactly wrong.

That's not really a new thing, though. Heck, people get jobs based on connections all the time.

Without a doubt

Yeah it’s how Teddy got the starting gig here with Brady.

Technically, it's also how we got Dan Morgan.

My take: It's not necessarily a good thing or a bad thing. It's just a thing.

Yeah, that's fair.

As I recall, everywhere that Dan Reeves went, he wound up taking Tommy Maddox with him. It became kind of a running gag.

Touchdown Tommy! He did good for the Steelers that one year...

Bill Parcells had certain guys he liked that he would bring to new gigs.  You just gotta hope for 2 things.  First, that your coach likes guys that aren't a negative to the team.  And second, knows when to get rid of them if they really stink.

I mean, if I were a head coach or a GM and there were guys that I trusted or that I knew were good in my system, I'd probably do something like this.

(mind you maybe not a guy who's 33 years old and changing positions...)

Heaven knows there's examples both good and bad. Familiarity got us Dan Morgan and Robby Anderson. It also got both us and Washington Marty Hurney, so... 😕

Sounds crazy, but I think Timmy will be alright, his problem wasn't that he wasn't worth a roster spot, its that he refused to switch positions which made him expendable. if he stays at TE (which is where he should been all along), hell be alright.
