So that's why we didn't trade down from #8. A bunch of teams were calling us offering negative points!

And that folks is how a real front office operates. I shudder to think how those conversations would’ve turned out if Hurney was fielding those calls.

He might help us find our next pro bowl MLB...

I'd like to think that seeing him working with us might take the sting out of watching him laugh along with the other Buffalo executives at our previous front office's stupidity in that Bills war room video 😖

One other thought: If they do this again next year, it'll include Dan Morgan.

I was about to make a similar comment.  Imagine what this group could do with a full "normal" off-season to prepare for a draft.  Let that sink in for a minute.

Really cool video. Fun to watch the conversations with the guys they drafted, as well as the discussions about Darnold. Watching Rhule and Fitterer go back and forth about the picks was interesting too.

Saw a lot of Matt Allen. I previously thought he might be on his way out, but it definitely doesn't look that way. He seems to be well respected in the organization.

One thing you come away with from the pre-draft discussions: Justin Fields was never in play. Rhule lists the players that they liked at #8 and he's not one of them. Confirms Joe Person's report that our reported interest in him was just a smokescreen to fish for trade offers.

It reiterates what I thought after last year's Draft. This is Rhule's ship, the GM is just helping him pilot it.

Apologies if this has been asked / answered.

Who were Rhule's 4 guys at the Tremble pick? I could make out Brown (I assume Spencer), Browning and of course Tremble.

I couldn't make out the 4th guy?

Tremble, Dyami Brown (WAS), Baron Browning (DEN), Devine Deablo (LVR)

    • Yeah I think he's just talking continuity it's not really an endorsement. Also I would think CarolinaHuddle of all places would understand using "we" for the team you follow. I can't STAND when dorks do the "Oh so you play for them then? Hurr hurr"
    • Kon is a damn stud but it’s not any individual player’s team. All of the “big 3” are incredibly and equally important IMO. And LaMelo makes Kon way better (look at his shooting splits with LaMelo on the floor vs without. Also Moose and even Miles are important cogs. Honestly think we’re 1 piece away from being legit top contenders if the young guys continue to develop the next year or two. I trust this FO to be patient to find that piece within the next 2-3 years and not force anything. Plenty of time and even without adding anyone we have the pieces in place overall already to compete with any team.
    • We lost 2 very close and winnable games against top teams in the league while missing 3 critical players despite 2 of our top 3 players shooting unusually terribly. Still split the 4 games that Moose and Miles were suspended, winning the most important one vs the Hawks. This ain’t yo mama’s Hornets man. Hopefully Coby can go soon but even if not Moose and Miles are huge additions for our starting lineup and bench rotations. Schedule is pretty tough after these next 4 but I think we’ll take care of business the next 4 to get to .500 then finish slightly above .500 after that to get a 7 or 8 seed. Keep it rolling boys. Also Kon is having an insanely historic rookie season as a shooter. Like truly can’t believe my eyes watching this kid level of historic. Man what a fuging home run of a draft pick and exactly what this team needed to take that next step forward. He’s gonna shatter the rookie 3 point and franchise 3 point records. Has a real chance to be the 2nd best 3 point shooter ever or dare I say even get to Curry’s level (as a pure shooter, Curry obviously has way more to his game that has made him a GOAT).
