Hey, I am a half wit!!  I think they might be just working on it in the event we are in a situation where we must have a return TD?  I dunno,  Moore/CMC sure hands and they won't muff it.

This. Reminds me of Smitty returning for a TD in the Seahawks playoff game where Nick Goings was our starting RB.

He is taught to pull back, but look at this from Ibe's perspective:

He is trying to make the team against the odds, so he is pressing to make a play.

It is the first day with pads on, which makes players itch for contact after 7 days (or so) of pretending.

Perfect storm for a play like this...he will remember this decision the rest of his life...hope Kirkwood can't say the same.

I’m not judging just saying what I saw.

I think Seattle was triple teaming Smitty on offense, because we were thin there too...so we wanted to find a way to get the ball in his hands.

That was such a heartbreaking loss. Especially for Smitty, especially after his performance against the Bears. My favorite player/reporter exchange is still Brian Urlacher, when the reporter asked him what happened to their all world defense in that game and he responded: "Steve Smith."

My coaches frothed at the mouth over this kind of hit.  I am not sure that he knew Kirkwood was hurt until he saw that he was not getting up, which explains the reason he did not call for the stretcher/paramedics earlier. We will hear about this later, I am sure.

Yeah but usually you're supposed to nail the OTHER team, not your teammates in practice.

Smitty's playoff performance that year was the stuff of NFL legend.  He was absolutely unguardable.

Maybe its the angle, but this doesnt feel like a cuttable offense. No one the field responds to the hit as if it was malicious until they notice Kirkwood is down. WE will see though.

Dude, you can see him launch himself at him as he was falling and drives his shoulder into his head and everyone around immediately stops and looks down and the coach charges at him screaming and throwing his hand at him. They aren't watching it on TV they are playing and it takes a second before anyone realizes what has happened but they all respond quickly. Especially the coach. He should be gone.
