No, no, this is definitely year two of the rebuild.

Not really.

There are two people in charge of making the team what it is, same as last year.

The difference is that last year, only one of the two was trying to rebuild. The other was trying to win now to save his ass.

She was, 20 years ago.

When she was on trial, there were a hundred women from her home country of Ecuador that swore if she was convicted, they would go on a "holy war" chopping off as many penises as they could.

After hearing that, I pledged to never date a woman from Ecuador 😕

He made a mistake by listening to his OC and his mentor and investing heavily in Bridgewater.

That was Marty.

Tepper:"You look at successful organizations, and there's a certain alignment between the head coach and the GM," Tepper said. "To think that you can do that without some sort of alignment is nuts. So to not have a head coach with some input into that is stupid. I don't want to be stupid, OK?"

Carolina Panthers fire general manager Marty Hurney (espn.com)

It is clear from this statement that Marty was NOT listening to Rhule, in fact Rhule didn't even have "some input into that ".  Marty was fired.  Then Teddy.

I'm glad he was ruthless / wise enough to move on from that error quickly (besides his play on the field [i.e. leaving plays on them] he was a bad culture fit too).

He's made the bold move of trying to reclaim Darnold (I think it's a very shrewd investment) and in the process passed over Fields and Jones at QB.

He's knee deep in this rebuild now. He's had two offseasons to put together his roster with HIS players.

I'm not expecting Playoffs because that's a high bar and I still think the roster is too young / lacks talent in some key areas, but I want to continue to be a tough out and finish above .500 this season. Next year I want to become a consistent winner.

Agreed.  We all do.

Been talking to some people with the #Panthers on the defensive side of the field since it’s hard to keep up with both practicing simulataneously. Jaycee Horn has looked really good today, as has Shaq. Pass rush has been humbled a bit and the lack of numbers at LB is glaring.

We gotta find ways to start fast and finish fast as well.
These guys giving us different looks, different blitzes that we haven't been protecting.  ...we'll go back in the film room tonight.. and come out here tomorrow and play a lot faster.

    • the did alright group Bears....got their QB and WR. so WIlliams will have DJ and Odunze to throw to. much better situation than Fields or Bryce had (two guys i'm sure he will be compared to in his rookie year). Pats...got a pretty good QB. Raiders...got Bowers at 13? ca-ching. Vikings...got them a QB and an Edge to build around. not too bad. Both Xaviers...Worthy in an absolute dream situation and Leggette with his home team.  Chiefs and Panthers....got a couple guys who will end up fitting a lot of needs for them.    the not so much group Maye...good QB going to a sucky situation. could wind up like Stroud's situation or Young's.   falcons...word is the Cousin's camp is as perplexed as we all were. apparently he was told that they were going to look at drafting a young QB. also apparently that discussion didn't involve telling him they were going to draft someone in the first round. from the looks of it, i think they want to be the packers. it's one of those things that i don't think they thought all the way through. i hope it comes back to bite them.   the "well, i didn't see that coming"  move 49ers taking Pearsall.  i figured Leggette would be going earlier than a lot of people thought (mainly thanks to us), but i don't know anyone that was talking Pearsall in the first round. Not a bad choice at all, i just figured it would be McConkey they picked up.
    • you mean like he did to his old bosses house?  Dude is petty and a baby
    • I also think he is accustomed to moving on quickly when he thinks things are a bad investment.  That's not always the case in football because it takes longer for things to develop in football sometimes.  He also relied in the wrong people for advice.
