In fairness, Rhule didn't say he will play the starters. 

"We will play several starters.  A small amount on Saturday". 

He then hedged on Sam actually playing by setting the criteria.  That he needs the full compliment of players around him for that to happen.

DJ Moore with a back and Robby with a hammy.   I’d bet my 2 pennies we don’t see Sam until game 3.  

fantastic week to debut Jaycee Horn though.

Sam needs "it" to be perfect

The media making a fuss about Will Grier pass count is the beyond absurd. We know damn well he's not going to be the 2 and doesn't have a future here. 

They knew exactly what they were trying to do.

I definitely understand the need to protect your starting QB but this "criteria" for him to start is more than a little weird. 

It's either lack of confidence in our offensive backups or Darnold. Neither of those situations is good news, although either is understandable.
