So Santoso is a downgrade from Slye?

He has never made a FG and has a 52% TB rate on kickoffs.

Joey Syle is a meh FG kicker with a 90% TB rate on kickoffs.

Hard to call him an upgrade.  I mean he could be in the FG department.  Nothing really there to make the case yet though.

I see, I don't know anything about him. I know we've given Sly time to improve. At least we're doing more than looking...

I don't know why anyone would have a problem with this trade.  It's a low risk move (conditional pick) for a young kicker with high potential.

I don't have a problem with it, just don't expect it to solve our kicking position.

If our coverage is good, nowadays it can be better to not be kicking TBs. Can often get the returner down before the 25. But of course a risk of them housing one. I trust our coverage under Blackburn so not necessarily concerned about the TB rate if we do wind up going with this guy as our kicker.

To be fair, with new rules a lot of kickers strategize higher kicks to the 1 where the team can trap the returners inside the 10

Not much tape out there but he's got 5 second punt hang time, I think he's got the leg for touch backs if that's what the coaches ask for

wonder if there is a stat that shows avg starting field position after kickoffs?  Would be interesting to see that.  Outcome of TBs vs those tempting fate

It sure does feel good to finally have a GM who sees a weakness, like we do, and he goes out and gets a guy to fix it or just gets rid of the weakness for value.

It is so refreshing to have a guy who, when national reports come out about a player being available that could improve our team, we know will have us in the mix for him.  I dont think we've ever been one of those teams.  Our previous GMs were so incestuous/neptotistic they rarely ever looked for outside help and it feels ike even if they did, players felt we were such a poorly run organization it would hardly ever pan out.

Fit is different.  Tepper needs to slide his brass balls statue over to Fit's office.

    • I understand why your brain translates "cool, calm, and collected" into a pejorative like "boring milquetoast" since you're genuinely the polar opposite of cool calm and collected, as someone who awkwardly escalates every innocuous statement into multi-paragraph performative rants as if someone just slapped your mother.  I assure you that well-adjusted people do not consider that to be an insult in the real world...not ass-backwards Internet Land where it's cool and trendy to be a Debbie Downer and being "too positive" is thrown around as a slur.  I remember you bragging about taking two days away from these boards as if that was a big accomplishment for you, which was eye-opening to say the least.  I genuinely hope this is just some internet character you're playing, because the way you act on these boards would be objectively so off-putting in the real world.  I've known a couple people like this and it's always incredibly socially awkward and sucks the energy out of the room; these are the people who don't get invited out to social events. But instead of properly absorbing and learning from these social cues in person, you're being enabled by your fellow gloomy weird internet friends here which only encourages you to spend more and more of your time online to get the approval you crave.  Just some life advice, my friend...since I'm assuming you are very young.  Don't spend all of your time in here.  There's a whole world out there with real people and meaningful connections.  And despite what the internet has taught you, being pleasant is a good thing. Btw it's really interesting how you ignored this part and instead honed in on a singular 2-second moment that I referenced and saying that I "summed him up" that way.  But hey, this is ass-backwards Internet Land after all.
