I still dream about 21 ponies too.  That one time we used CJ Anderson and CMC together.... Sweet.

I have not totally given up on Ian Thomas we can still find use for him. But they need chemistry together if I were Sam I would have all the guys out there catching passes as often as possible develop a rapport the lack of reps together in preseason had an effect. Our lone long TD was to Anderson who Darnold has the most history with that is no coincidence. Get on the same page.

If you want to throw him a swing or something on 4th. I'm not saying that hammering it in on 4th and 1 is the only way to go but you damn well better have the threat that you can muscle up and punch it in if need be. This role needs to be addressed in tight ball games or those situations could result in losses down the road.

 

Agreed. If you’re going to go for it inside of 2 yards to gain then split CMC out (or take him out altogether) and put a short yardage back in the game. 
 

Not everything has to be disguised and I think that’s what they want in a way with CMC on those downs/distance. “You don’t know if he’s gonna run or catch.” Sometimes you just have to line up and push the other team off the spot.

Im speaking for the entirety of our RZ issues, not today's. TBH if that fumble doesnt occur today... we are probably speaking positiviely about our RZ offense today.  I just wish we would focus on big targets in the RZ and setup 1:1 situations.

Seems like both Dan Arnold and Terrace Marshall were acquired/drafted to run that type of play.

Also why was the end zone pass to Thomas not to Dan Arnold. Arnold is much better receiver than Thomas. Not saying he would have caught it, but if you made put money on one TE on our roster to make a circus catch, it's Dan Arnold.

I agree, and good question. Im going to assume that Dan was on the other side of the line or that Ian was in spelling Dan. I wonder if Dan comes down with that ball ...

      Also, wanted to point out, all 3 of the Pivot guys I respect and appreciate tremendously.  I know RC only had 1 pro bowl, but I loved his game.  He was tough as nails and played with a ton of heart and grit.  He was trying to knock people out, but was also super cerebral.  Fred is obviously a hall of famer and just as tough. Channing made the most of what he had and was hard-nosed as well.  And yet, all three of them let Steve slide on a ton of poo in this interview.  They actually cowered in several moments and I don’t like that at all.  Because for all the things I mentioned in my initial post in this thread, them not trying to reel him back in or hold his feet to the fire on certain bullshit, and feels gross.  Yall were all on the same competitive level as athletes, and yet, yall just let him skate on poo like talking about invoking using a gun on someone, laughing off how he essentially ended two teammates’ careers by BULLYING them and then co-signing it, and letting him completely sidestep accountability about his affair.  I get it, because apparently he invited you to his home to do the interview, but either talk some real poo or don’t do the interview at all.  This was some real softball poo.

      This season’s leader, Daniel Jones, is averaging 265.9 yards per game, that would rank 12th in 2015. Even going back to 2020, he would rank 10th in passing yards. So it does appear that passing yards is down, but is that because they aren’t as good? Possibly, but we were spoilt in recent years when we had Brady, Peyton, Brees, Rodgers, Roethlisberger, Rivers, Ryan, Stafford (etc). As crops of QBs go, it was an amazing era to watch and most will end up in the Hall of Fame. I’m not convinced you we could list as many potential Hall of Fame QBs from the current crop. Will it go pass heavy again? I think there’s a good chance that it will, but it will require QBs that can consistently air the ball out in the frequency we saw in the 00s and 10s. I think currently coaches are favouring a more balanced approach, if not favouring a strong running game.
