I must of missed the information that Q Williams was sitting this one out.  Did he get hurt and I missed it.

GreenPapa:   So how is Pat freaking elf line not getting beaten like a drum? I can understand their weapons eating our cornerbacks or even their great end beating up on Fant, but how are we not destroying the inside of that line?

Fans expectations never align with reality.  He didn't get home because Sam got rid of the ball to Christian.

They were pushing the Elf and Paradis right back into his face on his drop backs. Luckily he kept his cool and went to CMC, as he should.

Rhule needs to pull a page from Belichick’s  book, remove their best player, contain Kamara & this game is much more winnable… prob’ly slightly easier than stopping CMC but still no small task… a lot tougher in the past with Brees at the helm but Jameis should Jameis, hoping the secondary feasts like the line did vs NYJ…

Kamara ran for 80 yards, Jones for 50 and Winston for 37.  Kamara had 8 yards receiving.

Exactly.   Quinnen would've had to have run like Sonic The Hedgehog to prevent Sam from throwing to CMC as quickly as he did.

This is the dink-and-dunk stuff that Brees had frustrated opposing teams(and their fans) for years with.

Darnold never really had a clean pocket and it was mostly due to the interior. Not allowing a sack doesn’t necessarily mean the guard played well. It means our QB and OC played/called a good game despite our interior line getting rocked every play. Maybe Elf will play better in the future, but it didn’t look good last Sunday.

So based on the Pass Rush Win Rate, Rankins had an awesome game against our O-line last Sunday.

He had 0 sacks, 0 QB hits, 0 tackles for loss, 0 pass deflections, 0 forced fumbles.
Oh and he had 0 tackle assists, and 0 solo tackles for a combined ZERO TACKLES.

His QBR was  53.5 .

But he was #1 in the league in pass rush win rate, which is based on holding the block for 2.5s.  Too bad we pass in 2.3s (same as Brady, Mahommes and Stafford and longer than Prescott and Herbert).

I meant 53.5 PFF.  Rankins isn't a QB.  I edited it, but I guess it didn't take.

    • Brother I hate to tell you but that's a terrible draft. You hit at 51 but the rest is...not good.
    • If you check next year there's 50 mill in cap space, * without this years draft class or next. 5+ should allow this year given its top 51. Next it jumps and you need another 5-10 mill for 27 draft class. Most team like to carry 10 into each season for injuries. It goes fast....... I feel it pains as a "hater" *but* if my fav Panthers team decides BY is thee guy......(just how...)... I feel they should offer that malik Willis contract as the goal and base for a contract.  I believe they feel strong enough to sign these top FA, they are going for it right now........ So that hurts my idea of drafting a starting QB in 27 or even 26....Its hard to reset "going all-in" with a rookie QB learning the NFL game. Hell who knows what QB will be cut after this year too, no one thought Tua or Murray was getting cut before this past season, NO ONE. Watson could be a FA at any point this or next.  Honestly wildcard in this mofo is using the 19th on TY simp, let him learn at his own pace and flip BY for a mid pick or just ride him for the whole 5th year. Now you have a low cap hit young QB that's been learning for 2 years and you got him for the next 3 if he's the guy.....why not!?!?!!?
    • Mike Kaye replying to above post: ”If he plays well next year, they will almost certainly restructure to open up cap and push down the cap number. His contract becomes guaranteed for Year 3 early in Year 2 unless he essentially bombs. I think 3 years, $90 million is the deal, which will almost certainly be reworked if successful. If it doesn’t, pretty notable gamble (let’s not kid glove this).  As with any deal there is nuance.” https://x.com/mike_e_kaye/status/2033246139026174146?s=46
