Talk to me about the Texans. What do you know?

this is a trap game if I've ever seen one

Thursday night/short week (check)

away game (check)

Houston team who no one believes in but has been competitive their first two games (check)

Starting a rookie QB who we don't have much film on (check)

The panthers should win this game, that being said we have really left off the gas peddle in both our first two games. If we show up and do that for four quarters in Houston I could totally see Houston winning a low scoring slugfest and us all standing there scratching our nuts

i can also see the Panthers blow out the Texans....and we'll still stand there scratching our nuts because that's how we roll here at the Huddle.  🙃

Yes but I don’t think Rhule will allow players to underestimate their opponent.

In the pressers the players are saying the right things.  Snow was up all night Sunday.

They seem all business.

Houston is NOT as bad as team as everyone says.  Probably 7 win team if Watson played.  They have some O weapons if Davis has time to get it to them and Ingram can run the ball.

We showed a lot of tape against the Saints so now everyone has something to study.

We should beat this team but....

Any given Thursday.

Saints wasn’t a trap game. We were at home and they were favored. Houston with their backup QB is a great example of a trap game.

I like the Thursday night game because it’s fun to watch and then potentially have a nice wide open Sunday. Being on the road for a Thursday night game is tough for the team. It was an older article but one I read had Thursday night home teams winning at an over 62% win rate versus over 56% normal home team win rate.

Maybe you don’t recall our last on the road Thursday night game but I do and it weren’t pretty. I’d be happy with any type of win and then a nice long break.

I remember.

It's all good.

    • Completely agreed.  TBH, we have had so many great players that are in my favorite list, and I hate to narrow it down to one, but Cam is it.  Which is crazy, because you would think it would be more of the guys I grew up watching, but no.  Cam was the single most impactful player to ever out on a football uniform imo.  And like I said in an earlier post, I always felt a kinship with him in a lot of ways…  the way he was treated and judged for the off the field stuff in Florida and having to overcome all of that and fight show at back.  And although I am not a black man, I have always been welcomed by and accepted more by minorities, and thus, I know what it’s like to be judged by appearances rather than the content of your character and who you actually are.  I know what it’s like to be stereotyped and written off or mistreated for your mistakes.  I know what it’s like to be held to a different standard while your peers don’t have to meet that same standard.  So I always related to that.  And the way he came in and just electrified the whole franchise, man…  I still think about it often how much it sucks that because of how talented he was, our staff out so much on him and that ultimately cut his career short.  You’re right, there will never be another Cam…  I think Josh Allen is the closest thing we will see for a long time, but Allen is not the running threat Cam was.  Cam could run you over or around you.  That was THE absolute funnest time to watch our team ever.
    • It definitely needs more specificity than is baked in now.
    • The weirdest encounter I had with a pro athlete was waiting in line at security at Mile High Stadium when I used to get the company suite tickets almost every week because I was the only employee based in Colorado. There's a small checkpoint accessing the suites that virtually no one knows about that you can usually squirt right through. I was standing there and looked over my shoulder and there stands John fuging Elway waiting in line behind me.  This was during the The Golden Calf of Bristol season right before he became GM. I just said "They make YOU go through security?" He's like "Yeah, ain't that a bitch. I literally have a statue out front and I gotta go through security like everybody else." I've heard mixed things about him but he was super nice and down to earth with me that day.
