Insight on Brady to Tampa, Belichick, Bill O'Brien and more

Trust me when I say there's a lot of interesting stuff in this piece.

Revelations from "It's better to be feared"

Mind you, the content is only tangentially Panthers related (lots of talk about Spygate) but based on what I read I'd expect there'll be some Panthers discussion to be found in the book when it comes out.

Included within the article though is some hysterical stuff about Roger Goodell, Eric Mangini and Bill O'Brien plus Tom Brady sounding like he just wants a hug.

Brady over Belicheck ALL DAY and twice on Sunday. Belicheck is a cheater, an asshole, terrible drafter,  and overrated. He bends more rules than the Catholic Church.

bet old Belicheat would have a different career narrative if it weren’t for TB12.

This.

And what I don't understand is, if Kraft & Goodell/Belicheat & Goodell are as close as they appear to be, why the hell aren't the other 31 teams ready to burn Goodell at the stake?  Surely there's some other shmuck that can continue making them money hand over fist without the blatantly obvious favoritism.

Goodell has no power.  He’s the bullet proof shield in front of the owners.  He takes the punishment.  That’s why they pay him so much.

NFL franchises are pretty decent investments even when the team sucks, I’m not sure how many owners even care about another owner getting a competitive advantage. You can sit on your hands and still make money.

Maybe that sounds too apathetic but i feels good to say.

    • D Carr must have really disliked the saints to wait and do this announcement after the draft has passed if he made this call a few weeks before the draft sure they would have approached it and the offseason differently.  oh well will be interesting to see how their qbs perform.  would love to see them roll with Thill and just make the whole offense towards his skillset.  Although sadly would be only playing in about half the games with how often he gets injured.
    • I have to say it's quite fascinating seeing you pivot from months and months of wailing and agonizing about threads derailing into Bryce Young slingfests only for you to turn around and do the same thing. And just for the record. Nobody in life ever attained wisdom and clarity from mistakes by having people blindly fawn over them and tell them they are above reproach and incapable of making mistakes. Our front office is just as human as we are. And based on the fact that front offices across the league outside of a handful of teams change on a fairly regular basis it's safe to say they are certainly no more infallible than the average Joe even though they possess significantly more knowledge usually. If you want a utopia where all you do is shine shoes for anyone associated with the Panthers you go right on ahead and create yourself a new community sir. More power to you.
    • I trust Morgan when it comes to LBs so I think Wallace will do well.
