What Panthers’ WR Robby Anderson hopes people understand about his outburst Sunday

"Got a fingertip", MY ASS!!

As you saw in the ACTUAL CLOSE-UP, he had a legit shot at catching that.

It would not have been an easy catch, of course, but WHAT CATCH IS EASY IN THE NFL?

Plus, the Game was on the f'n line.

Robbie is a Professional Football Wide Receiver being paid almost 30 million a year.

His job is to catch the friggin' football and he failed to do that in a big spot.

In a perfect world, Sam would've thrown a bullseye to him but it's not a Perfect World and neither is Sam.

Therefore it's up to the Wide Receiver to "Make a Play".  It's their job.

Either way, if Darnold makes a better pass we’re probably not having this conversation right now. Robby needs to make those hard catches and Darnold shouldn’t be missing easy 5 yard throws, especially in crucial late game situations.

We all know he should've caught it even those who don't want to admit it for their own reasons. But we also know on which play the game truly ended. It wasn't that one. So with that in mind. Again I reiterate. Same page. Be. Smart. With. The. Football.

Well of course it ended with the INT.   That goes without saying.

I'm just pointing out that the game could've ended with the Panthers on top if Sam's 3rd-down pass was caught.    That is all I'm saying.

I'm not happy about the way Anderson has played so far this season. He can play better and I expect him to this week.

I'm predicting a break out game for him against the Vikings.

They need to run more slants for him instead of just using him as a Deep threat.

The O-Line is not good enough to give Sam enough time to find him.

Throw it to him and let him gets some YAC and maybe make one defender miss and take it to the house or something.

I'm sure he was surprised that the ball was thrown straight to the DB instead of him.

no way lol GIF by NBC

Would have hit Robby right in the hands had he come back just two to three feet. Robby was turned back into the throw, squared up and flat-footed ready to make the catch. He either didn't see the defender coming (but claims he knew he was going to do that) or he saw the guy and didn't make the move to contest it at all, even if to just break it up.

If it's the second situation, then it's just another lack of effort play by Robby. If it's the first one, it's just a receiver saying it wasn't his fault, which is a pretty common thing for a receiver to say.

Me, I'd like to say it's fat paycheck syndrome, but honestly, Robby completely disappeared after week 5 last season and that was before he got the big contract. And at that time it wasn't because he was completely blanketed in coverage, since both DJ and Samuel were lighting it up out there and drawing coverage as well.

I hope Robby gets his act together and starts putting in the effort to fight for the ball and to actually get open once in a while... his speed and hands are legit weapons. Sadly, the knock on him has been that he fades fast and it seems that he's just about become a ghost here. He's having his statistically worst year ever when it comes to catch percentage (46%). We could be sending out Zylstra and Erickson for that kind of production. And when Shi comes back, could he actually push for Robby's spot in the starting lineup? Probably not with that making two rookies in the WR starting group, but who knows?

That Temple pedigree can only protect lackluster performance for so long.

Our resident non-Panthers fan/Darnold super fan is up early today.

Darnold deserves as much blame as Robby.

Apparently, I just noticed that I'm a "Veteran" now with just 1.6k posts.   Not bad for a "non-Panthers fan".  🤔

And if you had bothered to read any of what I was posting, you'd have seen that I've gotten on Sam quite a bit for his piss-poor play.

(idiot..)

here for it kungfoo and glenwo.

let the battle begin

It was never a battle to begin with.

It was just an old Kungfool with too much time on his hands who continues to believe I'm not a Panthers fan even though my Ranking here on this board says otherwise.  It would be so adorable, if it wasn't so stupid.

But anyway, I don't want to send this thread off the rails here.   Kungfool just wants to talk sh*t because he's got nothing better to do with his time.

This is about Robbie Anderson and hopefully he gives out a better effort in the next game to catch the football.    And hopefully Sam throws the football to the open man(that would help a ton, too).

I love that your "ranking" on this board is how you identify as a "fan."

I don't really even have to do anything but goad you into showing everyone how much of a "fan" you are.

Robby hasn't been perfect but I don't think many are questioning his "effort" except a certain Darnold fanboy.

The truth is(keep in mind this is for actual Panthers fans, so you can stop reading if you'd like), Darnold has been better than any of his doubters thought(myself included) but we are still seeing Jets Darnold all too often. The blame going largely to Gase and the Jets is going to start to fade away if that continues for 12 more games. It's actually unfortunate because he has far greater weapons and supposedly a better scheme yet still has Jets-like protection. Not quite apples to apples but too close for comfort.

    • Teams do some super stupid stuff with mid-fairly good QBs. I think they are just absolutely terrified they will be stuck with a QB that is not the quality of the QB they have now, even if its someone like Daniel Jones. Lots of trash QBs go in the first round. I encourage you to take a look at the sad, sad list of first round QBs in the last 15 years.
    • No, it will be a raw 6'7" 17-year-old European who just played basketball for the first time in March and who the idiot GM "had first on our board." He'll play the whole G-League season, get in 42 games for the Hornets and average 1.1 ppg on 35% shooting. Been there, seen that.
    • We missed on Burns at his peak value. That’s the problem with trading for picks 2-3 years away (which people were convinced the Rams would suck by now and these would be higher picks btw). Each year away the pick is the further in value it drops. Fitt was clearly hired based on turning us around quickly. It’s one of the many reasons tanking isn’t really a thing as our player JJ is telling you in this original article. It would take the whole organization from the owners down admitting they aren’t winning soon with Burns and picks 2-3 years away having more value because that’s when we are still rebuilding. It would only make sense if Fitt had a longer leash and would more than likely be the ones making these picks anyway which you wouldn’t want. The question is would you rather have those Rams picks with the strong possibility of Fitt still being here or would you rather Fitt try to “win now” like he did and expedite his firing? Altering the timeline would affect more than just the Rams picks.
