Oh, we definitely need a new OC.  As bad as the players have performed, he's compounded the problem with simply atrocious play calling.  Again, he's calling the games like he's got the massive recruiting gap versus the competition.  Dude, this is the NFL and EVERY FRUCKING TEAM is good.  You can't take this inferior offense, just lining them up against the defense and use your college bread and butter plays.  There are some serious deficiencies and Brady needs to acknowledge that and call plays that offset those inadequacies.

What Im saying is that we should be promoting Sean Ryan.... we dont need to go hire someone for it mid season.

Yup, did you see Garrett continuously roll Jones out to avoid our pass rush against their patchwork OL?  Brady?  Three or five step drops in the pocket with limited back or TE protection.  This as the Giants DTs were obviously winning against our IOL.  Adjustments?   Nah....

Yea that is the same thing I said in the other thread. The Giants have a lack of talent on their OL as well, but the Giants coaches know how to scheme around it.

Rhule made a huge mistake recruiting all of his college buddies to fill out his NFL staff.

That is insane. Protection was fine today especially in the first half. He locks into one read and has some of the worst accuracy I've ever seen.

Fine compared to other weeks where Sam was mauled? Sure, I'll give you that.  Again, Brady is a stubborn fug that refuses to adjust when his game plan isn't working.  Dude WILL NOT make in-game adjustments.  He's going to call his game and if it fails, well, the players didn't execute.  Tricky thing is, the OC should be putting the players in positions to succeed, so that BS is a straw man.

I just... I think back to this game today. I think about the missed passes that killed drives. Protection was alright today. I'm not saying he's the next McVay, but I just don't think the offense is much of his fault right now. By far the biggest issue is this QB play.

The protection was dogshit. Christensen and Daley couldn't block semen with a contraceptive.

Brady needs to be fired. Today. Let Sean Ryan call plays from here on out.

What would that accomplish? The QBs are making poo reads and missing open guys. Throwing hospital balls one throw and then dirting them on the next throw.

Ah, back to the QBs.  Fields is a Bear dude, let it go.  Good for him, he may actually make a career for himself in Chicago.  That's why I find funny that all the UNC homers want Howell here so badly that we can wreck his Pro career.

Because we don't scheme for anything. There is no growth 23 games in. No sliding of protections or moving pockets. No misdirection. He got exposed in Dallas and in the weeks after, still has not found a way to change his tendencies. Any OC at this level at a minimum should be able to do these things. O-Line is bad, but most of them are in the league.

When Sam Darnold has time to throw he makes the wrong reads. Roll him out and he will make the wrong read. His career actually supports this. We took a guy who sucked his entire career and brought him here hoping to fix him. We can't. Fix the QB position and everything else opens up.

Correct.

The NFL worked Brady out and he evidently doesn't have the ability to adjust to it.

When the Vikings DBs were running our routes for us I knew the game was up for Brady.

Yup, OC is calling great, WRs aren't dropping balls, OL is opening holes in the run game and giving the QB all the time in the world in pass-pro and RBs are like an extra WR out of the backfield.  This is just a QB issue, clearly.

    • I can say that I have defended Canales because I get that they are doing all they can to keep from looking like idiots for drafting Bryce, from the trade up to signing $150m guards to drafting XL and Brooks etc---nothing seems to work.  And Hiring Canales was part of the Bryce Young rehab program, so so he can't really decide to "move on."  That has to come from Morgan and Tepper. Personally, I think Bryce is due for an injury.  He is small, he is not thick, and he has been a LOT more healthy than most any other QB has who has endured so much pressure.  The thing that bothers me is this---Bryce really does not go through his progressions quickly.  He locks on to his presnap read and stays locked onto him for too long--he seems to fail to anticipate the WR/TE's positioning on the play before the cut--for example, if the WR is running a dig and the CB has his back to the inside of the field, he should be open for a second or less just after the cut.  He seems to wait until the cut has been made before deciding, then checking down quickly while moving in the pocket. OL:  There seems to be a lack of communication--is that on Mays?  Watch this team presnap--they seem a bit confused at times.   I can almost predict the success rate of the play by watching the center and QB before the snap.
    • Anyone else remember back in 2010 when Fox piloted having music under the in-game replays during one of Carolina's games? Not the commercial bumpers but the actual replay clips that the announcers would talk over. Pretty sure it was vs the 49ers. And it was terrible. Point being, Carolina continues being so bad that we get the networks trying things out during their games.
    • Is it bad I found this video more hilarious than pathetic? I am still laughing at that one play where half the people on the field ran into each other and Bryce still couldn't see Chuba wide open... Also laughing at Cade blocking nobody and somehow losing his cleat Man this offense is a poo show
