It hard to tell for sure, but it looked like the TE on Robbie's side of the field was also open along with Chuba on that play.

That's a busted play.  There's no way both TEs should be in the same area like that.    The pick was horrible, but someone ran the wrong route.

None of those stats tell you how many are in the box.
Watch the tape.  For identical downs and distances are teams using different alignments for Hubbard as opposed to CMC taking in to account that teams tendencies for all RBs.

You go watch the tape done seen it and the stats show we going backwards with Chuba now that he gets attention .So you think teams play all RB the same ? Henry had 10 men up around the line yesterday and that’s why Ten was able to throw all over them because his stats were 29 for 86 yards

It looked like DJ headed toward the end zone. Ian Thomas ran a wheel route in the same direction. Robbie was at the top of the screen. The TE (or WR) next to the left tackle appeared to be open. Run that play again and see if you see what I'm seeing

Thompson 82 and Thomas 80 end up within one yard of one another as the pick occurred.  Again, not defending the decision of Darnold or the wounded duck throw, but two receivers ending up in the exact same area is going to draw more defenders.

Actually, you're right. Upon further review (no pun intended), that play does appear to have two TE's in the same area. Who was the guy I saw open on Robbie's side of the field?

Robby appears to be open inside the hash; the DB bailed and was respecting his speed while protecting the sideline.  What you can't see is where that safety on that side of the field is until the ball is already in the air.  If anything, if the pass went to Robby (and he held onto the ball) it would have moved the sticks, but it's not like there was a TD pass to be had.

Also 5 Giants defenders in on that play.  That shouldn't happen unless two receivers end up in the same location and that's not by design.

The dysfunction is bad enough that I ultimately hold Rhule mostly responsible. He hired the dude, he had last word on Darnold and he had the last word on the OL.

Tepper made him The Guy and as The Guy, he is getting The Blame.

Tepper has been all about a QB. Still Joe Brady was the one who demanded both QBs in leu of drafting one. Rhule is definitely to be held responsible but he allows his guys to manage their side of the ball. When you have the HC saying we need to be a run first team and your OC comes out and runs 10 run plays that's an OC issue. He continues he will be fired by Rhule.

Where are you getting this idea that Brady demanded anything? Do you have any source information for that because I am pretty sure this is the first time anyone has ever mentioned that.

Rhule will just give him a stern talking to.

This is exactly why drafting a RB in the top 10 and paying huge money to RB's is a dumbass decision. Drafting CMC at 8 then making him the highest paid RB were dumbass moves.

Chuba is a 4th round pick and is good. Kamara, good, third round pick. Good RB's .. elite RB's can be regularly had in rounds 3 and 4 and even later.

Well it does not help his case when Chuba drops that 9 times out of 10.

Bingo! Darnold thinks he has a deep shot for a TD or a check down that's likely to get dropped.   I'd bet you he'd still pass up Hubbard 9-out-of-10 times given the chance.
