Remember when Joe Brady said the Panthers would run the ball a lot more?

I agree to an extent.  They kid gloves'd him hard after the Giants loss.  But to this degree is definitely not sustainable, as it straps us from being able to make big plays that can win games against higher scoring offenses.

If they are really thinking playoffs this season (which I don't see happening), we may need to give Morgan a go or find another guy out there somehow at QB (Not named Cam or Deshaun)

It could get very boring and ugly from here on out looking at a 7-10 type situation and still no QB.  Purgatory.

That is what is going to happen unless we trade for Watson. If we don’t we have to hope we get lucky in the draft. I just have serious doubts an established vet is gonna sign here in the off-season. If they sign another mediocre vet next year I’m on the fire rhule bandwagon.

Yep.  Next year cannot in any way be a reclamation project QB and I'm not seeing Wilson, Watson, or Rodgers happening.  And I doubt Tepper wants ANOTHER experiment QB as well.  All potential vet FAs are unremarkable.

So, yep, they're going to have to take a stab at this upcoming QB class; as questionable as many may seem to think it is.  And we're looking at the 2nd-4th guy off the board.

We may have to start convincing ourselves one of Pickett/Corral/Ridder/Strong/Howell could be good haha

I like Malik even tho I know people don’t. We’d have to mold him but the raw talent is there. I think there is still a chance for Watson. But as I said last year. If rhule wants to stay employed he’s gonna have to find a qb within 3 years of his hire date. He’s got 1 left.

I don't mind him either. My thought is if he looks legit to the scouts, he'll be the top pick so would be the one out of reach in our purgatory zone.

Hubbard still ain’t it.

You're one of those guys for whom anything short of All Pro level performance is garbage aren't you?

Hubbard is fine. He's not CMC but he doesn't need to be, and for a rookie running against defenses that are as unthreatened by his team's passing game as our opponents obviously are, he's doing a helluva job.

Remember that game where we still had Weinke and he had to be relief for Delhomme.

We ran like 90% of the game.

Maybe go that route for the rest of the year lol

It works for a game or two. It will never work for half a season.  Teams will start doing crazy poo like putting 9 in the box and daring Darnold to throw over them. The NFL compensates against anything unbalanced that works short term very very quickly.

Yep I was joking.  See my post before that:

I agree. Proof positive that some people are never satisfied.
