Could This Line-Up Be Worse?

Some of the OL woes seem ''fixable'' in the sense of better than what we've been fielding.

Christensen is the most athletic guy we have, yet we keep playing him inside, why?

Daley, is 330 lbs, versus Brady at around 303 lbs, why not go...

Christensen / Daley as the LT & LG combo, a 3rd rounder over a former 6th rounder?

Stubborn coaching. BC should start the remaining games for experience going into next season. No way he would be worse than Daley or Erving.

I doubt it was interested in anything pertaining to experience or future seasons. He needs to win now.

Basically, we're back where we were under Rivera.

fox was just as bad.

i mean is that something we look for in a HC? is that a cultural thing here? i guess it is. how weird.

Fox had his downfalls but o-line under his era was never the issue as he was a run heavy coach and were willing to invest as he knew their importance. Gross, Wharton, Ryan Kalil, and Otah (before injuries) to name a few.

i'd say it wasn't as much an issue. he inherited a pretty good one to start with but he kept plugging in decent players as needed.  it was at least a priority.

    • To me, this seems like they feel they aren't going to be competitive. I can't help but go back to Bryce. Good guy, but he doesn't inspire people to give it their all. He isn't a "leader" that people look to. There is no Smith, Delhomme, Kuechly, Cam, etc. coming in that door.  It has to be Bryce, but biologically speaking, how often is the shortest man in the room going to command the kind of respect that will drive people? It just isn't. That isn't how we are wired. That isn't how any living animal on Earth today is wired.  I just follow the science guys.
    • Vick's issue with Reid was that he couldn't take a hit, and he wouldn't go down. Otherwise he was pretty good much of the time.  Mahomes has a system that works. Mahomes doesn't become Mahomes elsewhere because not everyone can extract 125% of the ability of a specific player like Reid can. Kevin O'Connell is beginning to look like he has that ability as well but I'll need to see how he does with his Redshirt Freshman.  I also wonder how much of their playoff issue last year was related to the offense as a whole and not just Darnold. Fans don't really dive into the "why" things happen, they just see the what and complain about it.
