Wonder what Gilmore tells the younger players on the team....

Most of the Panthers have never been in a successful organization. Maybe CMC or Moton depending on how you feel about the last few years of Rivera.

Gilmore has won a super bowl, DMVP, and been in New England. Very likely commands a lot of respect in that locker room.

Wonder what they talk about in group texts, or after meetings, or after Rhule gives a post loss speech. Wonder how he feels after he spent an entire day in single coverage on AB just trying to keep him from going deep with no one underneath to help.

I would start casually mentioning how other, better organizations run things.

Just a thought.

For the fans thinking this season is as bad as it gets, they started 3-0. There won’t even be a win next year. First 0-17 season in NFL history.

Charlotte can finally, without question, earn the title of Worst Sports City in America, with the worst NFL team (2022 Panthers) and worst NBA team (2012 Bobcats).

Great seats still available!

That Athletic article actually has Gilmore on record as someone who likes Rhule:

Stephon Gilmore has only played for Rhule for a couple of months after the 2019 NFL Defensive Player of the Year arrived in a trade from New England in October. And while Gilmore is disappointed the Panthers haven’t been winning, he’s enjoyed his time with Rhule, whom he called a players’ coach.

“He listens to his players. He cares about his players. He really cares about them. He actually asks them about their life, their family,” Gilmore said. “Most coaches don’t do that. He actually cares about the players. You don’t see that too often. I think guys appreciate that.”

I realize you are venting but it takes a special sauce to go 0-16 (now 0-17).  You not only have to be trying to deplete your roster so far down that you might not win a single game...the refs have to be against you.

Probably not much.  I deliver to him and he has never done much more than a nod and a smile.  You thought Julius peppers was quiet?  This dude is pretty reserved.

Doesn’t matter if he’s reserved if his play does the talking.  He’s a great player and with such a young team, you know the young guys gravitate towards someone with his accolades.  I’m glad to have him even if it’s for a half season rental.  Hope we can retain him if he doesn’t command a ton of cash

    • Not many are talking about this player. He played well as a rookie last year. If he refines his blocking, continues studying film, and keeps working hard, I can see him being the next Greg Olsen. I’m expecting 55 catches, 700 yards, 4 TDs this season.
    • I'm not a Bryce hater and I would 100% move on.  Especially looking at how the upcoming qb draft looks on paper.  Hopefully he continues to improve but if in 3 seasons you're still chasing average season numbers then he's not going to be the guy.  You've just got to keep taking swings until you hit.  Average qbs without any elite physical traits cant get it done anymore.  So this year Hopefully he continues to develop and is above average statistically.
    • Meltdowns???? He was pulled by Canales because he wasn't executing the game plan after 2 games into the season so he could watch Dalton execute the offense and show Bryce the windows available in the NFL, how to push the ball down the field and how to step up and move around when blitzed. When Young came back 5 games later he clearly watched and improved. Enough he was named the future starter. He doesn't have a history of  meltdowns nor is there any reason to assume he will have one. From what I have read he is mentally strong and emotional stable. He may have bad games down the road, everyone does. But this is all a learning experience for him and so far he seems to be making progress. I can understand being hesitant on anything Panthers, but Young has surprisingly been able to gain his confidence after a disastrous start. You aren't alone in being cautious but I think he is the future. I thought he was too small and too short to succeed in the NFL. Honestly I was pleasantly surprised last year and am optimistic about the offense for the first time since Wilks and Dalton were decent.
