Report: David Tepper is “unhappy and embarrassed” by the contract he gave to Matt Rhule

I have a hard time believing that Tepper will keep Rhule for another year.  It’s like a stock that you bought high and have to sell low.  It stinks to take a loss but makes even less sense to waste more precious time with Rhule.

Should've kept Rivera and let him build out the 3-4 the way he wanted. He bled black and blue and that counts for something. You don't fire people just for the sake of firing them and Rivera was proven to be a good coach. Rivera with Fitterer would've likely enabled us the ability to turn things around.

I just watched Rivera's team get embarrassed harder than any L we have taken this year. neither are the right option, we need an offensive minded HC who has NFL connections that could bring in a competent DC.

Tell me again why Tepper is supposed to know football? Because he owned a miniscule amount of the Steelers and had no say as to what that organization did. The Rhule contract might look good on paper in the business world, who knows. But I have a feeling we have an owner that has no clue about the game.

To me, fault lies with Fitterer. He needs to take control better. But he's ONLY been a scout really. He was VP of the Seahawks for a year. A ... year. He played football, but was much more successful as a baseball pitcher.

I'd like to place my chips in the Dan Morgan basket ...   but that's not a thing yet. Yet.

I’m sorry but it was time for Rivera to go too, it’s not like he’s setting the world on fire with the no name team. He isn’t take anyone else to a SB, it was most definitely time to move on.

If attendance in the 4th quarter last game is any indication of next year he's actually losing more in the long run keeping Rhule than just eating the contract and moving on. Get Pederson or equivalent and get the young guys good coaching while they're still on cheap contracts

    • Yeah I think he's just talking continuity it's not really an endorsement. Also I would think CarolinaHuddle of all places would understand using "we" for the team you follow. I can't STAND when dorks do the "Oh so you play for them then? Hurr hurr"
    • Kon is a damn stud but it’s not any individual player’s team. All of the “big 3” are incredibly and equally important IMO. And LaMelo makes Kon way better (look at his shooting splits with LaMelo on the floor vs without. Also Moose and even Miles are important cogs. Honestly think we’re 1 piece away from being legit top contenders if the young guys continue to develop the next year or two. I trust this FO to be patient to find that piece within the next 2-3 years and not force anything. Plenty of time and even without adding anyone we have the pieces in place overall already to compete with any team.
    • We lost 2 very close and winnable games against top teams in the league while missing 3 critical players despite 2 of our top 3 players shooting unusually terribly. Still split the 4 games that Moose and Miles were suspended, winning the most important one vs the Hawks. This ain’t yo mama’s Hornets man. Hopefully Coby can go soon but even if not Moose and Miles are huge additions for our starting lineup and bench rotations. Schedule is pretty tough after these next 4 but I think we’ll take care of business the next 4 to get to .500 then finish slightly above .500 after that to get a 7 or 8 seed. Keep it rolling boys. Also Kon is having an insanely historic rookie season as a shooter. Like truly can’t believe my eyes watching this kid level of historic. Man what a fuging home run of a draft pick and exactly what this team needed to take that next step forward. He’s gonna shatter the rookie 3 point and franchise 3 point records. Has a real chance to be the 2nd best 3 point shooter ever or dare I say even get to Curry’s level (as a pure shooter, Curry obviously has way more to his game that has made him a GOAT).
