This off-season will be the most pessimistic the fanbase has ever been if Rhule is brought back for a third season.

It’ll definitely be toxic next year for sure.

Rhule is coming back next year.  There is no way around it.  Let’s just hope Tepper forces him to make some major stuff changes with NFL experience when he is bringing him back.

I just have this sliver of hope Tepper isn’t 100% on keeping Rhule and with enough outside pressure he will crack and fire him. Problem is, he might not be firing him because they didn’t prepare and don’t have a search plan in place to find a new coach and coaching staff. Maybe that is out of pure laziness or maybe the plan was always to keep him for 3 years regardless of team performance. I don’t think that’s a good reason but hey the team sucks for a reason.

Not going to spend much time, just two things they are the youngest team and honestly can only go up for here.

Bonus- If somehow CMC is healthy, that *could allow to cover up sooooooooo many issues alone, but............

Look, coming from a guy that has always found something to root for with this team, a Rhule return would be the 1st time I would consider a season completely DOA before training camp

I used to be considered one of the most negative folks around these parts I think everyone has just come to see what I saw years ago that this is a very poorly run organization and moreso now under David Tepper.

I have been thinking about the offseason. While everyone is really negative I guarantee that there will be a lot of people who will get hopeful before the season begins.
Fans have a short memory and NFL has one of the longest off seasons.
It will be interesting to see if people remain negative.
I will never forget so while I will always support the team. I am done with Rhule. No matter what happens.

Could of said the same thing last season. Making CMC the focus of the offense is a mistake. We need to get away from the “If only CMC wasn’t hurt” thing.

Tepper take the wheel. You've got a good racecar especially since you now have QB1 back in the building. Cheaper and probably more effective than thirsting after another QB that doesn't want you. You can now groom the right future QB while he watches a legend a professional. You are now a couple interior o lineman and d lineman away from actually being a threat in the division with a healthy CMC and a competent NFL level coach for WR and TEs. Speaking of coaching

Total destruction of your race car isn't building it's quite the opposite. Your whole team feels it. Tepper take the wheel and hand the keys to a professional driver. Insanity is...

Yea him being the focus is the big problem given his health. Much like Darnold the panthers are stuck with CMC given they redid his contract. Got to ride this turd out.... best hope is CMC plays in all games and Darnold figures out the NFL QB.......1630105455072.gif.a73f0cc43158d850b293d13cf139ed04.gif

Honestly you know what's more terrifying than a Rhule shitshow next year? Us getting lucky and falling ass backwards into 8 wins due to weak opponents etc and having Tepper keep Rhule for yet another season because "the process is working". It sounds crazy given how the team is playing, but remember we started 3-0 this year...

The schedule is pretty tough next year. I think this team struggles to top 5 wins again

    • A winning record would be nice, but I still have us winning around the 6 to 8 game mark. Realistically we should beat the Jets and Saints, that gets us to 5 wins. After that, we have to face a lot of potential play off teams and our divisional opponents. I think we’ll win 1 or 2 of those games to take us to 6 or 7 wins, perhaps 8 wins if we can spring a further surprise.  Is that enough progress for head coach and QB? I’m not sure, it will depend on performances and output. That said, it’s nice to be back in a position where we are thinking about the play offs.
    • I would tend to agree about not falling into the trap and paying a below average QB, but sometimes situations can “force” a team to pay that QB. For example, if we play ourselves into a 9-8 like record, then what options will we have in the draft? Or do we avoid the draft and trade for or sign someone in free agency?  I’m not convinced by the 2026 QB draft class. There’s some intriguing prospects but no one that really screams “draft me”. I’m not sure we’ve got anyone really that stands out as a trade candidate or free agent signing. So although we might not want to commit a big money contract to Young, him playing well and showing progress might force the team’s hand.
    • Realistically we would be looking at no more than a mid round pick for Dowdle or Chuba. Are we really that desperate for a mid round pick? Not really. I would much prefer us utilise the two RBs in a 1-2 punch similar to how we used D-Will and Stewart. After all, Bryce is not Drew Brees. He won’t throw for 300+ yards and carry the team consistently as a passer. So having a strong running game with a 1-2 punch will be beneficial to him, and it will also be beneficial to the RBs because we can spell them and not overwork them.
