Jimmy Garoppolo is greatness. Only 8 more sacks to take, an int to throw, a defense to come up with 2 more turnovers including the final GB drive of the game, and a kicker to go 4/4 including the game winner.

Formula for Jimmy G greatness. Let's go!

LOL!

You're taking it hard man. Yeah, it sucks to suck but most of us have progressed to the acceptance stage. It's easier to appreciate other good professional football once you get there.

Nah. Glad I can make you laugh.

I'll always smack down the kingmakers.

You can say Burrow is good. You can argue he is top 15 QB in NFL. You don't crown a QB for that performance while not crediting the defense and kicker for carrying the offense.

Mac Jones, Trevor Lawerence, Baker Mayfield, Lamar Jackson, Dak Prescott, Kirk Cousins, Kyler Murray, Justin Herbert, and Jameis Winston are all on par with Joe Burrow. Good not great.

Have fun with it

LSU homer's unite. That Joe Brady greatness is coming to a team soon too.

Burrow looks damn good behind an OL even worse than ours. I'm not putting him in the HOF yet, but our franchises are heading opposite directions and the QB position is one of the main reasons why. Take Burrow off that team and they're drafting top 10 with us.

I believe Taylor Heinicke or Kyle Allen would be able to take that team with Chase/Mixon and perform well enough to get them past a beaten and bruised raiders team and whatever overrated AFC South team that walks into the playoffs. Down to the wire playoff games against the worst teams in the playoffs prove you don't suck as a starting QB.

Don't have much hope for the Panthers. A truly great QB wouldn't save this mess, and a good QB would look like they peaked in college under Rhule.

    • Exactly this as well.  Beyond age concerns--by the time they find out if they have something in Penix, they'll need to work on a new contract not long after.  The newer league winning QBs have gotten extensions by year 3 (ie. Burrow).  So, if Penix somehow lights it up year 3, he could turn around fairly quickly, probably by year 4, and ask for an extension.  ATL has really no buffer time in easing the bucks off the QB room to build a team around him.  Not to mention, they'll be needing to make decisions on Terrell, London, Pitts, Bijan, a lot of high end investments BEFORE seeing Penix through, and that's IF he works out.   Lindstrom's contract is backloaded too and they can't cut Matthews until after 2026.   Just a terrible use of resources as it relates to timing & salary allocation, no matter how you look at it.   You're in win now, so get a talent to win now.
    • it's  already going to be painful enough watching Caleb Williams throw TD passes to DJ Moore on a regular basis week in & week out   & naturally not sit there & reflect back & say to yourself woulda should coulda had that instead of Bryce Young especially if Bryce never looks remotely similar to a #1 pick
    • Agreed.  I would expect most realistic fans to tamper their expectations.  There is a scenario where we simply over drafted him at 1, but he still has a solid career and can become a franchise QB.  That is what I am curious to find out.  Does he have what it takes to become the guy.  If he can somehow do any of the stuff you stated in year two then fantastic, but that's not where my head is at judging by his rookie play and the state of the franchise.
