Go Get Watson

Recommended Posts

If Watson was squeaky clean and a model citizen I would have major reservations paying that price for him.  He is very far from either…no fuggin way now

Its pretty appalling anyone would even entertain this idea IMO

I don’t care what other holes we have. Having a franchise QB fixes our biggest need. The rest will fall into place.

Like it "fell into place" with Watson in Houston?

Like it "fell into place" with Stafford in Detroit?

Hell it didn't even "fall into place" with Newton in Carolina.

"Oh, but those places had lousy coaching and roster management", you say.

Yeah, about that... 🙄

This notion that once you get a great quarterback everything else just takes care of itself is one of the dumbest things I've seen on this board in a long time.

I get wanting a great quarterback but people who think that's all the Panthers need to become a championship team are delusional.

Well, its pretty much a given that to win in the NFL these days, you need (at minimum) a competent+ QB.

Anyone who denies this I think is *insane*.

BUT...

You are right, a competent+ QB is a luxury player/pick that *will* fail if there is no support around him.  I 100% agree with you there.

Bengals do not have a good head coach and they’re in the championship game. We need an elite qb.

Taylor seemed completely lost his first two seasons.  Not sure if it finally clicked for him or what, but the Burrow/Chase connection kept that team alive this year and continues to do so.  We definitely need somebody with ice in their veins like that

So what’s your solution?

At some point you have to do something. Whether the Panthers do what’s necessary after acquiring Watson is irrelevant. You first have to get the QB. I don’t have confidence in Tepper to hire a competent coaching staff. Do you? Getting Watson at least gives the team a better chance at competing. If they fail to build the roster around him afterwards, we can have that conversation then. But I’m so sick of operating in fear in what could go wrong. Take a fuging chance. Sam fuging Darnold is our QB.

He has been bad this year with questionable calls and decisions. talk to some bengals fans they’re already comparing him to Tony dungy in Indy with Peyton. Elite talents that carry mediocre to bad coaches.

We have Matt Rhule, his staff and his roster decisions for at least one more season, and possibly (God forbid) even longer.

Meanwhile, the best quarterback in the league couldn't even make it to the NFC Championship Game against a team quarterbacked by Jimmy Garoppolo with far superior management and coaching over what we have here.

Yet people think getting a good quarterback is all this team needs to be as good as what we saw tonight?

Good grief 😣

Thought processes like this are why the panthers will forever live in mediocrity.

3 of the 4 remaining teams have certified franchise QBs. The 49ers are an outlier and hyperbole. They are the exception.

I said go get Watson. Nowhere did I say he solves all of our problems, but he solves the biggest one.

As someone else pointed out above, quarterbacks aren't magic.

And if you don't believe that we can get a more competent coaching staff, then the only thing acquiring a quarterback is going to get you is more entertaining losses.

Hell, at this point we don't even know is Watson is going to be cleared to play. Trading anything for him before his legal issues are resolved is the most ignorant idea imaginable.

(and no, the Texans aren't going to accept conditional picks; they've already made that quite clear)

The correct answer is getting competent coaching and leadership in place first. Then let them fix the quarterback issue, as well as the offensive line issue and whatever other issues there are.

Otherwise you're just putting perfume on a pig.

Going out and getting a quarterback to add to this team under this coaching staff is equivalent to buying fancy stereo system for a car whose transmission is failing.

Our biggest problem isn't our quarterback. Our biggest problem is the guy who chooses and coaches our quarterback.

Until you fix that, nothing else is going to matter.

    • I didn’t like this draft at all. XL, our first pick had one good season out of five and doesn’t have burst off the line.  I wanted Ladd here because I think he’d have been a much better pairing for BY9s weak arm.  We need to be an excellent west coast style offense if Bryce is gonna shine.  A burner that takes 3 steps to get moving and doesn’t separate at the line is a bad choice IMO. I don’t even want to talk about drafting a RB after having Foreman make us feel better about trading CMC only to send him packing and give Sanders top FA money last year to fall on his face.  We always try to get cute and find value.  The fact that we were the first team to take a RB (one recovering from a serious injury no less) tells you we didn’t get the memo 31 other teams got.  RB has a huge role in protection responsibility, it’s a huge reason some great backs are situational…they suck in protection.  A rookie RB helping protect BY doesn’t warm my heart.  We should have taken the top C on the board here IMO. LB and yet another project TE that’ll probably just frustrate us all for how long he hangs around seemingly doing nothing.  Then a bunch of dice rolls that aren’t changing any fortune unless it’s a complete accident. TLDR This whole draft looks like JAGs to me at best.  I don’t like the XL or JB picks at all.  Always happy to be wrong when I have a negative take.
    • I'll tell you how you should benefit from using this in a moment. However, things are alright now. You might have to be really skilled to use their find effectively. I'm not the most ideal customer when it is put alongside that condition. Here are the pros. I put my foot in my mouth. I had high expectations. We'll face up to reality. My notion is based around my assumption that nobody has a partiality concerning doing that. There is a culture that has been built around some hindrance and also you should understand how some command will impact your life. Really honestly, if you actually reckon about it, how good is that stuff? Whenever somebody experiences the doohickey, it is best that they do not hesitate to talk to a professional.    OFFICIAL WEBSITE ----> https://www.onlymyhealth.com/sugar-defender-reviews-blood-sugar-supplement-complaints-1709036624   Go Down For More Info:-   https://www.onlymyhealth.com/puravive-reviews-side-effects-and-complaints-1709979035 https://www.onlymyhealth.com/fitspresso-reviews-coffee-loophole-recipe-dangerous-side-effects-and-complaints-1710235827   https://medium.com/@lancebrum/sugar-defender-buyer-beware-heres-the-real-story-must-read-cfbe26c6a174 https://hackmd.io/@lancebrum/SugarDefender https://www.eventogo.com/event/sugar-defender-supplement-what-you-should-be-aware-in-update-2024/ https://www.techdirectory.io/new-york/adtech/sugar-defender https://gamma.app/docs/Sugar-Defender-Buyer-Beware-Heres-The-Real-Story-Must-Read-7vy0ew8b8doq9hm https://jciodev.microsoftcrmportals.com/forums/general-discussion/59f21551-e405-ef11-a81c-6045bd0b2619 https://pgccouncilcsp.powerappsportals.us/forums/general-discussion/604e7f79-e405-ef11-a73d-001dd806eee4 https://thecontingent.microsoftcrmportals.com/forums/general-discussion/5f1e49b0-e405-ef11-a73d-6045bd01c1cc https://twor.microsoftcrmportals.com/forums/support-forum/1bf52a1d-e505-ef11-a73d-6045bd3fd1cb
