did he have concerns coming into the league?

Don't remember, but that's not the point.

There are plenty of guys with known character questions, yet we still have folks who argue to sign guys like Josh Gordon, Justin Blackmon, heck even Titus Young.

As has been repeated many times, don't put yourself in the position of having to rely on someone who's known to be unreliable.

ahh, thought maybe he had some issues coming out.

I do agree thought that I think some people devalue the off the field issues.  When you are using a high draft pick I would think you would want to mitigate risk, especially when there is usually a 2nd option that you have rated fairly closely.

I hate the Falcons as much as the next guy, but this is ridiculous.

Ridley gets suspended for a year for a $1,500 bet, prompting Roger Goodell to say this poo:

"Your actions put the integrity of the game at risk, threatened to damage public confidence in professional football, and potentially undermined the reputations of your fellow players throughout the NFL."

What a hypocritical piece of poo. The NFL doesn't have any integrity to risk. I don't remember him ever coming out against any of the wife beaters or the drunk drivers or the owners getting hand jobs at massage parlors with a statement this strong.

Technically speaking they are still investigating the whole "Pay to lose" thing in Miami. An NFL player betting on games could be looked upon as along the same style since they could possibly be involved in fixing some of those bets and falling into that "risking the integrity of the game" category. Not saying Calvin WAS but I can see where the argument comes from.

    • Fair, sure.  Still not worthy of the #1 pick and still has major issues.  And you absolutely have to be concerned that for bryce to make a nfl caliber throw the conditions have to be optimal around him.  And those sacks around the 10 minute mark are just brutal to watch.
    • But his arm wasn't destroyed due to his throwing motion, it was from essentially two hits / injuries.  Tackle to prevent a pick 6 due to a lazy Benjamin route in 2016.  That was the start of having to be on a pitch count in practice.  2018 TJ Watt hit after Cam had already adjusted his mechanics and was having his best year statistically speaking, although I remember even that year questioning if he can still sling it deep.
    • Arm elasticity and arm strength are not the same thing.  There are some who have great arm strength but can't deliver off platform throws, sidearm, etc,  due to lack of elasticity.  I am concerned about Bryce's arm strength to deliver the ball when the anticipation throws aren't there and you simply need to fire a ball into a tight window.  Not sure that can ever be part of this game.  He does have good arm elasticity which is what made him special in college, throwing the ball on the move, that should serve him well in the NFL especially when he gets outside of the pocket.  My biggest concern is standing in the pocket, pressure in the face and not being able to set his feet will affect him more than others due to his height and arm strength.
