What do you think Watson's trade Value is:

CMC

6th ovr this year, next years first, and 2nd?

Sounds about right to me.  And as the poster above said - Sam almost certainly has to be part of said trade as well.

  • The Washington Post's Nicki Jhabvala reports the Commanders offered the Seahawks multiple picks across the next three years for Russell Wilson.

Commanders GM Martin Mayhew has been trying to get an upgrade at quarterback in Washington for quite some time, but the swings and misses are piling up after failing to land Matthew Stafford last year and Wilson this time around. With Wilson going to Denver and Aaron Rodgers sticking in Green Bay, pickings are looking slim for a team desperate for a new signal-caller. Perhaps the Commanders will look to Jimmy Garoppolo or Carson Wentz, but those are clear and obvious downgrades from Stafford and Wilson.

Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network, they remain interested in Watson but could face competition from the Washington Commanders if the player’s sexual misconduct allegations are resolved.

“The Washington Commanders and Carolina Panthers remain interested in Watson, per league sources. As much as the Texans want to trade Watson, they realize that the criminal justice system and civil litigation move slowly. And perhaps the list of teams will grow exponentially if his legal problems are resolved favorably.”

Drew Lock, Shelby Harris, another player, two first rounders, 2 second rounders, 5th rounder for Wilson and a 4th round pick.

Yeah, those are "a quarterback away from being a contender" terms.

Even the most optimistic Panther fan in the world should know that's not the position we're in

That's less than Seattle got for Wilson.

Feel pretty safe in saying that's not happening.

Yes, but they are not at all the same situations.  Wilson is a choir boy and Watson is a sex pest, with many legal hurdles ahead of him.  If everything were the same, I could see a similar deal for Watson, however things are not the same and Watson is going to be had for a discount.

poo....we would absolutely be a contender next year if we signed/drafted a few key o-line guys and obtained a QB the caliber of Wilson.  O-line and QB are the only glaring holes on the roster, however those are just the 2 most important things.

I know that's what a lot of hopeful Panther fans are wanting to happen, but I don't think it's quite that likely.

The term is "a quarterback away".

If you have to add something else to the equation, we're not a quarterback away.

Throwing that "offensive line" is not one position, it's several.

    • Oh good for them! Hope this is the start of a long happy time in their lives here.
    • There was no reason to believe in either Cam or Jake as a top tier elite QB before those seasons either. Cam was an "athletic" QB in most people's minds and his passing skills were open for debate. And there was a bit to that as he was still trying to get that massive power in his arm tamed to be able to put some touch on his passes. And then, he did it. Missiles became bombs, the firing lanes became points of finesse. Cam grew up and leveled up, while still retaining the ability and drive to truck people whenever he wanted. And Jake... no one freaking believed in Jake except Jake himself. He got, and let's be honest with this, one chance in a losing game to make something out of his career. And he rose to the occasion like some kind of mythical hero and continued to do so for the season. He became a true leader for the team, and his gunslinger capabilities rehabbed Moose's career and created Smitty as a force in the league. Smitty went from a barker to a biter. But no one believed in Jake going in. And they trashed him on his way out. Now Bryce... who knows? I've seen some improvement. Maybe he finds his footing. His teammates seem to love and respect him and that means a lot. The game should be moving at his speed now. He has weapons available to him and maybe a defense that doesn't just roll over by the third quarter. And his coach seems to be moving this team in the right direction. Could he do it? It's up to him, if he can find the magic like Jake and Cam did. But don't doubt this, magic is really, really hard to find.
