Life without DW4

Not giving up on DW yet....

But, I think signing Winston or Mariotta makes the most sense unless we fall in love with a QB in the draft.  I do like Pickett, and think a rookie would generate some excitement for the fan base.  But we would need to shore up the LG and C spots as well as MLB prior to the draft in order to take a QB at 6.

People say this years class is poo but want the Bama QB after absolutely eviscorating Mac Jones for months 😂

I guess Mac Jones was just a skinny white dude that had a dad bod at age 21? But all he did was win and make throws! I guess that was only because of the talent around him? But, Bryce Young doesn't have good talent? 😂

While I was the conductor on the tank for Trevor train and I agree with your premise, the two things above conflict. If you want to make a run at a QB, we need losses. You don’t want a vet bridge QB to limp along, you pick your Jimmy Clausen and run. I’m think Sam is that guy or maybe Walker.

It still saddens me that we wasted all that cap and picks on Teddy and Sam when in 2020 we had the Will Grier express to take us to the promised land and at worst we got the bounty of picks from SF. Would have made getting Watson easy peasy.

I’m not necessarily saying tank. The chiefs(Pat)  rams(Goff) eagles(wentz) all gave a load up to move up and get their guys from deeper in the first round. We would prbly be giving up way less than we are willing to right now with Watson.

I say sign Marcus or Jameis because you know Rhule knows he is a lame duck and isn’t gonna ride with Sam either way.

People play favorites too much based on their favorite college it's why you can't have a basic fact based talk about quarterbacks here.

What I see in Bryce is a skinnier, slower version of Kyler Murray. I don't question his skills but I do question his ability to physically withstand the punishment the NFL game dishes out.

That’s a fair assessment. He just has ridiculous arm talent and is extremely cerebral. Playing under BoB he’s seen a high level system.

Yup. IMO this is what it would have to be. Stand by…pick up assets by trading CMC, Robbie, maybe DJ. Try to keep the defense together so it doesn’t need work. Build the OL. Draft the QB of the future in 2023. Fire Rhule after we have the worst record in the league. Start over.

    • Completely agreed.  TBH, we have had so many great players that are in my favorite list, and I hate to narrow it down to one, but Cam is it.  Which is crazy, because you would think it would be more of the guys I grew up watching, but no.  Cam was the single most impactful player to ever out on a football uniform imo.  And like I said in an earlier post, I always felt a kinship with him in a lot of ways…  the way he was treated and judged for the off the field stuff in Florida and having to overcome all of that and fight show at back.  And although I am not a black man, I have always been welcomed by and accepted more by minorities, and thus, I know what it’s like to be judged by appearances rather than the content of your character and who you actually are.  I know what it’s like to be stereotyped and written off or mistreated for your mistakes.  I know what it’s like to be held to a different standard while your peers don’t have to meet that same standard.  So I always related to that.  And the way he came in and just electrified the whole franchise, man…  I still think about it often how much it sucks that because of how talented he was, our staff out so much on him and that ultimately cut his career short.  You’re right, there will never be another Cam…  I think Josh Allen is the closest thing we will see for a long time, but Allen is not the running threat Cam was.  Cam could run you over or around you.  That was THE absolute funnest time to watch our team ever.
    • It definitely needs more specificity than is baked in now.
    • The weirdest encounter I had with a pro athlete was waiting in line at security at Mile High Stadium when I used to get the company suite tickets almost every week because I was the only employee based in Colorado. There's a small checkpoint accessing the suites that virtually no one knows about that you can usually squirt right through. I was standing there and looked over my shoulder and there stands John fuging Elway waiting in line behind me.  This was during the The Golden Calf of Bristol season right before he became GM. I just said "They make YOU go through security?" He's like "Yeah, ain't that a bitch. I literally have a statue out front and I gotta go through security like everybody else." I've heard mixed things about him but he was super nice and down to earth with me that day.
