Unfortunately, I think you're right. Except that I think Pickett is the QB of the draft. If the Saints think that too and are willing to make those moves to get him then maybe I'm not wrong.

You never really know about team's values or QBs in the draft but that is a lot of movement for this rookie class.

I just don't see it from Picket.

You made a comment about taking Howell versus the field, which is a ridiculous suckers bet anyway.

But, I was prepared to have a defined and agreed upon set of criteria to evaluate against.

Those odds are insanely stacked in my favor though.

Yeah, if I'm banking on a legit QB out of this class, I'd take Howell over the field.

It's an insane bet because you don't know where a guy is going to land. I mean, Howell could get drafted into some terrible situation to some poo franchise with a losing overall record and a brand new super genius hedge fund owner who has proven to be a moron in the NFL and coached by some hack of a mid-level college coach with full say over football matters and an OC who couldn't get any other NFL job after being fired as a head coach... oh wait...

Betting on the outcome of draft picks is dumb. Betting on the outcome of a draft prospect's career is even dumber.

Sorry, but them's facts

Where do you truly believe Howell gets picked? The number, i will not use it like I have with my Allen and Herbert comments.

For me Howell is hardest player to pick for, just curious.

Yeah, I don't believe in that idea. Great players are going to be great because they want to be great and work to be great. No one puts that in them.

That's why great players are still great on shitty teams and shitty players are shitty no matter where they go.

If you make it to the NFL and you need the perfect situation around you to be successful, then you probably just aren't that good.

Ultimately, I think he goes to the Steelers at #20.

I think theres a decent chance thats hes still staring at his phones until day 3, agains his draft spot is the hardest for me to pinpoint. I do think Pitt will past on him with their 1st, but if hes still there form their 2nd......

I think that too. But you'd still be dunking on me that Howell sucks if he was playing decently for a bad team. I mean hell, most of the Huddle already thinks that about him because UNC sucked while he was basically playing like MVP Cam for them.

    • We need a Sam Off Ball Backer to pair with Lloyd. Lloyd is a strong Interior Will especially in Pass Coverage- but that is also Trevin Wallace’s archetype. Need a Rozeboom style run stopper. Rodriguez and Allen fit that
    • There aren’t that many ways to screw Day 2 up.  That’d be them making an obvious reach, or selecting at one of the few positions that we are pretty solid at. Because as excited as we are for the growth and improvement this team is showing, it’s still not an overly talented or deep roster. Honestly, there aren’t really many positions I’d feel bad about. Feelings about Bryce aside (because we are not going to select a QB), it’s really RB (bad positional value) and that’s it. I guess OT too since we grabbed Freeling in Round 1.    While not as high on my wish list as other spots, you can justify WR or TE.     Interior offensive lineman who would likely take over an interior spot either this year (at center) or guard (next for cap casualty of Hunt or Lewis)? Fine by me.   Dlineman? Yes, that’s a highly rotational position and we have zero quality depth.    ILB? Yep, could stand for an upgrade over Wallace.    EDGE? Absolutely wouldn’t hate another option to spell Phillips, Scourton, and Princely.    FS?  Would love to add better coverage skill set to the backend of the defense. Moehrig and Ransom are great in run support but not as good deep. Adding a more traditional FS would allow us to mix and match/run some 3 safety sub packages and or a big nickel type look with a SS down near the line for better run support in possible pass downs.    CB? Could stand to get better at nickel.
    • Sounds like Veesaar is entering the draft. He could always test the waters and pull out and return but without him our big men look like a serious liability. Better do something in the portal. If they don't do something about this portal madness my days as a college sports fan are probably numbered. This bullshit of having a nearly entirely new team every season is gonna get old fast.
