I thought he passed the eye test in the Louisville game to open the season but didn't watch him much after that. It's very easy to talk yourself into him. Hoping he's our version of Tony Romo or Dak or Brees. Rooting for him to succeed.

I say if we're gonna bring hope into this then we should hope for better than Romo and Dak. Brees yes, then I'd also hope for Wilson and super hope for Montana.

I think what's nice is the fact that we have Fitt who saw Wilson in preseason and that team started him over...Flynn or whoever that GB backup they paid a bunch for. So if Corral has it, I think he is starting. Personally I think the guys got it.

Was that Charlie Whitehurst? I mean he was from San Diego I think but wasn't there a big deal made about him going to Seattle or something?

Whitehurst was in Seattle, but he’s right that they gave Flynn a deal in free agency and he was the presumed starter before russell crushed it in training camp/preseason

I had a fringe first round grade on him and placed him as my QB2 in the draft, behind Malik Willis. I was ecstatic we got him in the third.

If he's good enough for @Verge to be happy about it, then I'm all in on the pick. They're almost never wrong.

Of course I hope he is amazing and does a great job for us and becomes a fantastic starting QB. But until I see him in an NFL offense playing against NFL defenses, he is an unproven rookie who fell to the third round and needs a lot of work. Still color me hopeful that he can come in and learn the NFL game and start for us.  If not he is still a good value in the third and worth the gamble.  If we keep.rolling the dice eventually we will find our guy. Hopefully it is Corral.

In a perfect world the kid snatches the job in training camp and off we go thus allowing us to spend our high draft pick on one of those beast defenders or a top wr.

Will Anderson on this defense gives me a chubby

Famous last words maybe we should avoid for now. I look forward to seeing more of Corral. Let him show us what he's got.

This sums it up nicely.  My hope is, at a minimum, he can prove that he is better than Darnold.   If he can show you that then you have a fairly cheap backup for a few years and keep swinging.

Yep. The draft really worked great. What if this is our year and the season went the same way. We are overdue to have some good luck for a change.

And he is on a 4 year really cheap contract. Finding a starter on a rookie contract is like hitting the lottery.  Backup or starter it is still a win if he plays.

    • No, he has a long way to go to be that--I think he is probably referring to his ceiling--I think Legette has more room to grow from where he is that those more polished WRs.  When you look at his potential, it presents an argument that is not so one sided.  Of those three, only Odunze had a higher RAS score 9.92.  XL had a 9.90.  Malik Nabors had a 9.67.  Harrison Jr.  did not have one.  I am not sure that Legette has not overcome more obstacles to be where he is, and if you consider his adversity, his story might be more incredible, even though he is only a second tier rookie right nowm with Mitchell, Thomas, Pearsall, and maybe McConkey.  I am going from memory-but you have to think of things as a kid-when he was 16, his mother died of breast cancer.  When he entered S Carolina, his father died.  They had some issues and QB problems and the OL was terrible in Columbia---the others you mentioned?  None of that family drama, and they played at Washington, Ohio State, and LSU.  Huge difference.  I am proud of him as a man--when all his chips were on the table--when he had no more chances, he broke through and became a first round draft pick.  A school with a losing record, mediocre QB, and bad OL.  Mentally, he was struggling through the losses of both parents.  Amazing story.  Is he as good as those three who played at top universities?  Not yet.
