You have a strange notation that if a team makes one mistake they are destined to make mistakes over and over again.

Actually you're the one with the strange notion that if QB moves on, he must suck.  I listed a bunch examples.  You then clung to team evaulation, and I pointed out how the 9ers have fncked up eval before.

JimmyG is a good QB.  Right now we have Sam, possibly the worst in the league, and 3rd round rookie.  JimmyG would be a much better mentor for Corral.

We will win more games with JimmyG.

Quoting again from Jonathan Alexander's Observer article...

Garoppolo’s recent shoulder surgery, as well as his injury history, is a far greater concern for some within the organization. The Panthers want no part of his $26.9 million salary, and the 49ers haven’t shown a willingness to take to carry those payments in a trade.

No he is not. He was carried by his team.

His record shows the exact opposite...

But Jimmy G isn't the one wanting to move on.  His team wants to move on from him even if he wants to stay.  As Mr Scot just shared we don't want to pay his salary which is reflective of a good QB.  I wonder why that is???  In fact it doesn't look like ANY team is wanting to pay that salary for a subpar QB...

The 9ers are 31-14 with JimmyG. Shanahan is 8-28 without JimmyG. They went to the Super Bowl and 2 NFC Championship games in the last 3 years.  He had the 9th highest passer rating at 98.7 last year. Higher than Mahomes, Herbert, Josh Allen, and Tannehill.

Naaah.  We're too good for him.

Whatever.

Lol look what happens in the playoffs.  They win but he shits the bed, they needed a blocked punt for a TD to get score so they could beat GB in which Jimmy had a QBR of 11.  Hell Sam could have gotten a rating of 11.  His win against Dallas 0 TDs 1 INT and under 200 yards passing.  He looked better against the Rams, but threw the game deciding INT to lose the game.

Teddy's regular season passer rating was 94.9 last year landing him just a couple spots behind Jimmy.  Jimmy dinks and dunks/checkdowns just like Teddy (I think someone posted he was 29th in yards per attempt).  It gives them a good rating, but when the game is on the line they can't make the plays to win.  There is a reason why he is STILL available.  If he was so great we would all be wanting him and there would be a bidding war for him right now.

We aren't "too good" for him.  It's just a waste of resources to trade for a mediocre QB that is basically Teddy 2.0 just to get a couple more wins.  We need to develop Corral or draft our next franchise QB next year.

https://nextgenstats.nfl.com/stats/passing#average-completed-yards

He has the 13th LONGEST air yards per completion at 5.9, longer than  Herbert, Murray, Ryan, Brady and yes Bridgewater.

You can mindlessly hate the guy.  I don't care.  We will win more games with him.  The 9ers lose when he doesn't play.

Jimmy G - Average Intended Air Yards per pass attempt

2021- 29th

2020 - 40th

2019 - 37th

He is the king of checkdown offense.  It’s why the 49ers gave up 3 first round picks for a Trey Lance.  If Jimmy G was good….Trey Lance wouldn’t be in SF.  Especially not for 3 first round picks.

We could of just kept Teddy this entire time.  Saved a bunch of draft picks.

You are what your record says you are...

...and the Jimmy-G man is a #winner💥👊.

Jared Goff was too….and yet the Rams couldn’t wait to that trade that “winner” for a “loser” like Matthew Stafford.

The Niners lose when the person that is backing up Jimmy G has to play correct.  You really like these stats out of context.  Who was their starting QBs in these loses?  Replace him with a capable QB and you could have a Rams/Stafford moment with that team.  I posted what CRA shared with us in this thread and Intended Air Yards Per Attempt.

Do you care to comment on his playoff performances?  Winning one or two more games so Rhule can try to keep his job isn't the best play for the Panthers.  Jimmy is already on his 3rd team by age 30 and we would be number 4.  I don't hate him, but let's actually learn from our mistakes and not keep repeating them with other team's castoff QBs.  I don't hate Sam Darnold, but I understand he isn't the future of the Panthers and the same goes for Jimmy.

    • okay I found this and it sounds like my hopes for the first surgery being not such a great job seems like it could be actual reality.  I only hoped because that would give a better chance for recovery and ia a possible scenario so I just thought it could be possible. Had no real evidence of it. But I’ll be damned.    This is a detailed report of Brooks’ surgery and the condition of his knee after the failed repair.     https://x.com/jmthrivept/status/2055743129408704806?s= Sparked by some very good questions by @CoachspeakIndex, here’s some info on Jonathon Brooks: 1. Speculation that the first graft/ACLR by Dr. Cooper didn’t “take” or at least was too lax, leading to failure and re-tear. Brooks dealt with issues cutting, progressing in his rehab into the early stages of 2024 and then re-tore it late 2024, requiring a second ACLR in January 2025 (essentially revision). Notably, CAR prolonged Brooks’ rehab process through Sept-Oct due to issues progressing into the next stages of rehab. 2. Second surgery performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, who has extensive experience with revisions. He did a double bundle technique, harvesting graft from Brooks’ left patellar tendon and a strip of his right IT Band (his right patellar tendon had been utilized for the prior graft in 2023. The double bundle technique significantly increases rotational stability of the knee, leading to a stronger and more secure graft/reconstruction. Also to note, Brooks’ surgery wasn’t significantly delayed, meaning that the tunnels from his prior ACLR were in good shape and they didn’t need to perform bone grafts to fill in (would have delayed 2nd surgery by 5-6 months). Essentially, reading the tea leaves tells me that everything else except for the graft itself was still in good quality within his knee. Good sign for future.  3. Typically, you see a performance increase anywhere from 16-20 months post-revision. Brooks will be ~21 months out from his second surgery by the time Week 1 hits. His knee should be more stable and stronger this time around, with adequate time for healing and return to all movement patterns. I’m not viewing this situation as a typical “Player __ had TWO ACL tears, he’s cooked” situation. Rather, I’m viewing it as the first procedure failed, but the second procedure is significantly stronger and should allow him to return to form this time around. I don’t know why it posted as a link but there it is.
    • Jackie, any more reps tomorrow, or is that it for this session?  thanks for the work
    • How can you say they aren’t trying to win now with all the moves made in free agency? Or is trading first round picks the only way to be win now? I’d be fine never trading another first round pick again, win now be damned.
