If so sayonara to both... 👋🖕

That applies to only one. That's what created Matt Corral' "character concerns", not dropping a friend in the toughest time of his life. Melo is being a true friend, not b**ch arssd'.

The Hornets may still sign him BUT the new market for his service will determine his price now. We'll know around July 20.

Nah let him be someone else’s problem. I don’t want to see a domestic abuser on the court because we got him for some discount. Spend that money on a player who actually deserves to be on the court.

I'm not lobbying for that at all. It's just that certain guys get second chances easier than others. The second chance may not be here but the present dynamic would point to the Hornets being more likely than anyone else to give him a second shot.

They'll start with counseling, public statement that he was wrong, rehab/come to Jesus, she comes out in support, the court goes light because they're working it out and then comes second chances.

That's a necessary sequence of events to try and appease his employer and the public. We'll see if it works or if he crashes out completely.

If the dummy leaves his wife and kids or if she is too scared to feel safe with him any longer dude won't even get a job playing in Europe.

Tragic because his kids were about to be set for life.

i have been waiting to really chime in on this but i think i have solidified my opinion over the past few days/week..

We can't just outright released Miles.. 3 weeks ago we could have S&T him right before or during the draft for multiple 1st round picks - his value was sky high and was probably one of the top 2/3 FAs this year.. now this event happens and it drops his value all the way down to ZERO? - i don't think so..

he still has value and Mark My Words - he will be playing in this league again - possibly even this year.. we would be complete idiots to take whatever value he has left and flush it down the toilet - just to be able to say we did the "moral" thing..

naw man - as a small market team - we can't afford that as a franchise.. keep him under the qualifying offer, let the legal system work over the next year for all the facts to come out and reassess the situation..

So Bridges 7.2 QO has to be rescinded by July 13th, his court date is July 20th. If the offer is pulled then Bridges becomes a UFA. Additionally, any player who is convicted of a violent felony is automatically suspended for a minimum of 10 games.

That's a pretty low minimum

I'll support my team more for doing the moral thing.  I don't know if I can go to a game with him on the team, I have a wife and a daughter.  I can't support that poo with my money. Same if the panthers had traded for Watson.

If SHE forgives him and wants to try and keep the family together I'm for it.

Essentially we'd be signing her and the kids and keeping them in the community they love. I'm for that.

At least we wouldn't be ripping the support of the community away from this family who obviously needs it.

I'd sign him for them, not for his ego.

    • Yeah and I am doubtful he can offer that consistently. I don’t have many years left at my age and in my view we have wasted two and this whole exercise with him was always a three year minimum.  I am out on that with a guy I don’t believe in, and never believed in, it has sucked. To me it is a costly detour off the right track. Years.    But I am not so rigid that I can’t see excellence. He needs to display it though, consistently before I change my outlook.
    • No, when I said rage, I meant rage, which only applies to certain fans on this board. Your timeline of trying to assess whether he is the future or not is really tied to the discussions surrounding his second contract. If this team is going to commit to some monster contract while he has shown nothing but glimpses of brilliance would be deservedly worrisome, so the clock is genuinely ticking for him to settle into something resembling his final form. Perhaps a best case scenario is that he plays well, the team succeeds, but he does so with a more limited role that makes the rest of the league view him as a game manager, and his second contract value reflects that. Then he continues to improve and becomes a bargain comparatively while not handicapping the team around him, and we enter an era of consistent championship competitiveness that the fanbase has craved for decades and has never really experienced before. But that requires many, many things to go right and for Bryce himself to facilitate that if he ends up being the quarterback of the future.
    • Exactly. And the flame throwers as well, get location benefits from not going all out. But they have it in reserve.  Not sure how much Greg had but he was an artist.  There was a YouTube I came across last year or maybe even 2023 and I don’t how to even find now but it had two NFL QBs I want say one was Carr from the Raiders but I don’t really remember  The point of it is they stood side by side throwing identical distances to identical targets. Radar gun was used.  They threw the normal effort (not all out) and it was measured etc. Then they were asked to throw their ‘fastball’. They were missing and most often they were missing high. It demonstrated the same principle.    edit: and applying that to arm strength, give me the guy that doesn’t need max effort to have good velocity. The margins are so narrow with less velocity in tne NFL the defenders can Close on it and this is a league where they value down to the 100th of a second level. It is that tight
