Matt Corrall

If I was a owner I'd seriously have to ask him why he drafted Matt Corral, where was he on our big board and when does this menagerie of former OK QBs stop?

He dropped from being a consensus first rounder when college football ended. In actuality he's the same guy who fired up Ole Miss to be a better SEC team.

Hindsight is 20/20 but if I was an owner I would be asking A)if you had a first round grade on him then why in the hell is he 4rth string and not getting reps and B)if the plan was to throw darts on the board until something hit why the hell not draft Howell as well

Why not build from the draft INSTEAD of the trash heap?

I've seen enough, even before the season, the mishandling of Matt Corral would've been the last straw. No vision for the "future" you sabotaged his development to the degree that you kind of put him into harms way without sufficient reps, as an afterthought because you never planned for him to play despite what he(Young Lion) said to the media.

McAdoo, Snow, Wilkes can stay. This HC is stuck in academia, his heart is in amateur sports, so much so it's crying out loud. Punch his ticket send Rhule back to school.

He's rich, believe me, he's not a second year LB, he'll be fine. He'll be know for donuts day. I prefer jeans day but to each his own.

No. Panther Matt Moore was sitting behind Jake most of his time here. He went on to start and do pretty well for Miami. He wasn't going to be at Jake Delhomme so he went out and earned the starting job for the Dolphins and did well considering. He didn't fall off like Clausen when he left here, that's for sure.

Moore went on to start 1 year for Miami in 2011. He was then relegated to the backup role he was born to play.

As I said, revisionist history.

Tepper was there in the war room during the draft with them and seemed to be a very active part of the process leading up. I'm sure he knows their rationale for all these things such as they are.

Yeah, Moore wasn't ever very good, no matter how much his cousin TRD publically fellated him on this board.

No. Jake's last year in Carolina was 2009. Moore left after 2010. He was signed by Miami to backup Henne and only started because Henne git hurt. Then Miami drafted Tannehill in 2011 and he was never a starter again.

Didn't fall off like Clausen, he had two contracts with Miami if I'm not mistaken.

Clausen didn't "fall off". He was terrible from the get go and remained terrible. Matt Moore was a solid backup QB and that's why he played 11 seasons in the NFL vs. Jimmy only being active in 21 NFL games (13 of those being in his rookie season). Moore started more games (32) than Clausen got a jersey for. But let's not get it twisted, Moore was primarily a career backup. He only started the majority of the games for his team during one of his 11 seasons (12 starts for the Dolphins in 2011).

Corral is gonna get a red foot year.... The Corall crowd can pipe down for the rest of the season.

Question.   if Matt goes on IR for the year, does he still he to practice at some point?  Not sure what the rules are around IR.

I think putting him on IR is a great option if he can still get some reps at practice. PJ needs to go to practice squad. No one is picking him. We need an extra roster spot.

You can't practice when you're on IR unless you're designated to return and even then I think you can only start practicing when you're within three weeks of your designated return (minimum of 8 weeks on IR). So if he goes on IR he's going to miss a lot of practice.

    • I am really sorry  that  happened to you they say to never meet your sports heroes i have friends who met  mickey mantle when they were young and he was a belligerent alcoholic at the time  ut broke their hearts  I had the opportunity to meet and spend  time with Cam Newton.     He was the polar opposite of Steve Smith and his public image.   Polite.  Honest when asked question.  You could tell the things that mattered to him and the things that  didnt. The disappointments in himself and the things that hurt him  those qualities make him quite a good interviewer too  i genuinely liked him   Im sure as young, rich, sports hero, he has not been a choir boy but there is goodness in him  the time i met him i took one of my friends with me from the west coast. She said she didn't like him and wasn’t enthusiastic about meeting him.  She left loving him   No one can say anything bad about ‘her Cam’ anymore
    • Agree about oline. They've tried their best to improve that area. But honestly, has it looked like the most expensive oline in the NFL to you? Not just with Bryce. With Dalton's one game where they almost got the old man killed.  Also YAC shouldn't always be hitting a guy in stride while he's running full speed. Pickens killed us after the catch and those weren't all hit-in-stride plays. I remember a play in Miami when a guy caught a 5 yards curl and took it like 30-40 yards to the house. We don't have that in Carolina. Horn might be the closest thing to that but he can't get significant PT for whatever reason. If Bryce keeps trusting his receivers to make plays, I think he'll become more consistent. Seemed like he only trusted TMac. And force feeding one receiver isn't sustainable. Defenses will start to blanket him and take him out of the game. And yeah, keep taking deep shots. I hate all that dink and dunk football. Hate it.
    • Dan Marino sucked too I guess. Washed up Elway carried by Terrell Davis was actually better than prine Elway. Lol
