Yeah we didn't trade 3 1st round picks..

You ppl act like they gave up a Tre Lance trade to get Corral.. Its a future 3rd and a 4th this year.. That's not future killing compensation..

Yes.  They had Corral rated very highly on their draft board, especially among the available QBs.  Let's face it: we picked our tackle, then had no picks for several rounds, and as the third round started to tick by, he was still on the board.  It was a very good value.

As was the trade for Mayfield.  As I've said in several threads, I was not in favor of trading for Mayfield, but it is hard to argue what we traded away in the deal and amount of his contract that we are paying.  The only downside is if he does return to 2020 form, he won't be so affordable next year and our cap outlook is not great.

But, for the cost of some low end draft picks and $5M (maybe escalating up to $8.5 depending on Mayfield's numbers and durability), we wound up with to QBs who are better than the two we had when we started.  Corral's situation sucks, but his potential is still higher than Walker's.  Mayfield vs. Darnold....well, the referee needs to stop that fight.

It's the same people that hate Baker, claim he is no better than Darnold.  Then they are pissed he will ruin our draft position and save Rhule's job????

Excuse Me Reaction GIF by Bounce

You guys are slumming. 7 wins a success?! Baker, Baker, Baker may get 7. The notes and books on Baker, Baker, Baker are already made, DCs share too, with their buddies. Everyone already knows Baker and Sam's weakness and we're coming with weak sh*t again.

Not saying Corrals foot wouldn't have got "stepped on" by a first or second string lineman but if a third stringer is outmatched and pushed into you because your coach never gave a damn and wouldn't have put that guy out there protecting Baker, Baker, Baker it's another story.

He didn't give a sh*t about Corral for the season OR protecting him so he could be available for QB2 duties in training for QB1. NO. The future wasn't cared for like the others who have no future in their very last shot at QB in the NFL. That's who Matt Rhule values. Actions show that words can f' off!

If Rhule is the worst coach ever and Baker squeezes out 7 wins, then he must be ok right?

I've got mad respect and hope for Young Lion but it's a up hill battle on a bare plain, with a very high potential for food source competition.

It's really f'd. Mad. Furious at this HC for not valuing or protecting THE potential starting QB. The only one in that room signed for 2023. Stupid. Petty. It's back to square one for MC9. Till next season.

They would be lucky to win two games if Corral had managed to remain healthy and start.

Every beat reporters has been saying this for weeks.. Some ppl choose to do this

dumb-and-dumber-yell.gif.0fcad7aeacc86a04eaf9e4ed8bf4b922.gif

But yet we have teams that are able to get a 7th rounder to out perform MC.  Is that on the evaluation or the develop?  Because its a fug up somewhere down the line.  How is it every and I mean every drafted qb is ahead of our 3rd round pick?

I swear it's the people who just watch the game drunk on Sundays.... and only notice splash plays... While not understanding the game on more than a surface level.

Crazy Part is Trevour..  Even Matt Corral said this..

When he was talking about how he wished he choose a different college.. That would have prepared him better for this transition  ..

And some ppl still couldn't understand this..

Corral likely won't make it. But the trade up for him was to placate fans knowing we would go into the season with only Darnold. The team panicked and we've wasted another valuable draft pick on a QB who won't offer us wins.

Pretty standard for this org.

This dude gets it.  MC and the others were clearly in a free fall but once again our dumb asses could be patient

    • The lack of discipline has seriously been our downfall the last month. Seems like we just went off course this last month and Lee won't address it. You can't just live and die by the 3 when you can attack the paint and at worst draw a foul
    • Great season regardless of what happens. From starting out 4-14 to ending 44-38 is incredible progress and future is bright from here. I do think we can beat the Heat and then win on the road against either Orlando or Philly assuming Embiid doesn’t miraculously return sooner. But if not, a higher draft pick is nice too
    • I know a DT that's asking for a trade: 🤔 maybe a home discount can be worked out. Dan Morgan could create up to $80 million in space through restructures of stars like Derrick Brown, Jaycee Horn, or Taylor Moton. They could also include players like Tershawn Wharton ($18.6M cap hit) in the trade to balance the salaries. Carolina Receives: DT  Dexter Lawrence II New York Receives: 2026 2nd Round Pick (No. 51 Overall): A premium Day 2 selection that fits the for  Lawrence  after his 0.5-sack season in 2025. WR  Xavier Legette : A young, high-upside receiver who provides the playmaking depth HC John Harbaugh needs for his offense. 2026 4th Round Pick: Immediate mid-round value. 2027 4th Round Pick (via MIN): Future capital acquired in the  Adam Thielen  trade.  ----- Stone Forsythe* (another young player as a potential trade option)provides immediate offensive line retooling for HC John Harbaugh.    John Harbaugh's history in Baltimore proves he values draft volume over individual superstars.    Just my 2cents
